    I think Brian’s performance in this years worlds is going to tell us a lot about his future as a competitive Strongman. The last couple of years haven’t gone so well compared to Brian’s usual standard, but there have been injuries which are always going to have an impact. Right now he’s injury free, training appears to be going very well and the events are excellent for him. If he can’t win this year then I think 2016 would have been his last.

      Brian’s mobility seems better than when he was at a soft 440+ with a bad hamstring the last few years. More than 18 months from his hamstring tear at 2019 Arnold’s shouldn’t be bothering him anymore. He should be better and quicker on the atlas stones than he has been the past couple years with less girth and improved health. Biggest threat is Mateusz, and while he will be ready, how much has his injuries limited his preparation? Healthy Shaw wins.

    • @martinshoosterman

      I don't think he has a future.
      I think he wants 5x worlds strongest man, and I think he will get it. But i also think if he gets it he will retire.
      Brian will retire as the greatest strong man in history if he gets 5x wsm, so there's no reason for him to continue competing after that.

  • @MpRClutch
    @MpRClutch 4 года назад +114

    When it comes to legacy, his is secured. 4 WSM titles speaks for itself. This year is likely his last chance to win, and I do admit he does have a much better chance than previous years. But again, if he doesn't win, who cares. He's widely considered one of the greatest strongmen ever, he has nothing more to prove in that regard.

Who can lift the heaviest is the question everyone wants to know, not who can lift and move the kinda heavy at the fastest speed. It’s like he said, Brian will blow everyone away at a HEAVY yolk, but with a yolk that everyone can lift, it just matters about who’s the most “athletic” not who’s the strongest.

    My honest opinion is: No. It's not the way it was just four years ago when he won last and by George, there's two men who are going to keep things interesting for the next ten years. One is the current WSM: Martins Licis. The other is Mateusz Keliskowski. They're the new Shaw and Big Zee. Also Novikov, Belsak, the Stoltman brothers especially Luke. I'm not seeing the Brian Shaw we saw when he and Zydrunas were trading the crown. He's a bit too uptight. He's not taking Keliskowski seriously enough. That's who his biggest threat is. I know Mateusz is not 100 percent, but I don't see it allowing Shaw to surpass him to the top of the podium. If anything it'll be easier for Martins to retain. The New Guard is here. He can retire and ref or scout or do something else within the business can Shaw. He's in a World Class of four legendary men as a 4 time WSM winner. Best to let it ride and find new adventure.

    You can't compare Z to Brian. Even if Brian wins this year Z is still the greatest not only your opinion. When you see he won Fortissimus plus 8 Arnolds 2 IFSA World records team records and his longevity. I can't ever see another BIg Z. Also this years winner should maybe come with an * next to it.

    Brian Shaw
    Mateusz Kieliszkowski
    Tom Stoltman

    I agree, these events couldn’t be better for Brian. If Mateuz was 100% maybe he would push hard because probably 2 events he would win( yoke/ farmer medley and log medley) but coming back from injury it will be very tough. I think Brian will be top 4 in all these events announced so not losing points is just as important.

    Here’s my thoughts. Brian Shaw has the kit, he has the experience, and he has the time. He will be practiced, he will be prepared that’s Brian Shaw. Everyone knows that as a fact about Shaw. So, the only real questions that remain are, 1 can Brian regain his form of 2016? If yes, then 2, can anyone currently going to worlds beat that package? The consensus is by many that mateusz is the man everyone expects to be the next big name... he’s the only one I see that can be consistent enough to stay close to Shaw in points, however he’s been rehabbing a very serious injury and has more question marks than Shaw. So how do you feel about Shaw’s ability to get to old form? Looking at his training he’s close.

      One thing to note, he doesn’t mention the weights he’s using in training. So while it looks good, we might be witnessing him looking good at 50% of comp weight.

      Michael Williams maybe. Could it be that he needs the hype of ‘Brian’s looking amazing in training’ even if he knows himself that it’s nowhere near comp weight?

    • @gym-kneecrickets6294
      @gym-kneecrickets6294 4 года назад

      Adam Raw Lifting, I’d be willing to bet that if Brian is not, nobody is. There is no reason to assume he’s trying to cover up a weakness when he’s been training and airing those training sessions every Monday since he narrowly lost a barn burner at Santa Monica last year to Licis. Since that date he has noticeably gotten stronger, while Licis was hit by a car and won’t be competing. I believe if mateusz is not 100% after his tricep injury Shaw most likely not have anyone to close in points to threaten him. Now if he gets injured all bets are off.

    Loz with Thor out. Brian is my favorite to win WSM this year. Brian literally has the best strongman gym in the world just in his backyard LOL and I don’t think mateuz Will be on point with his dead lift this year and he loses so many points with that event. The events at WSM this year are tailored for Brian Shaw especially the keg toss he’s most likely going to come in first place with that.I expect to see him hoisting up his fifth title.. thank you for talking about Brian loz👍👍. He’s my favorite strong man..

    4:10 Yes Brian was super pissed immediately after the deadlift hold, on his channel he said he didn't properly grab hold of it with his left hand it started slipping almost immediately after picking it up.
