      It does kinda suck that his kids will have to eventually contend with the fact that their Dad is gay, but he's clearly a loving father to his kids, and the fact that they're step-kids is even more honorable.

      Yeah I saw ZERO REMORSE FOR WHAT HE DID !! His brother was devastated on the stand, and he should have atleast cared for and about his surviving brother !! If his brother and Dad were torturing him and stalking him why didn't he just sneak and buy a ticket to somewhere far far away !! He could have gotten the hell away if he wanted to instead of killing them all !! Why did he kill his Mom ? That part of this blows my mind !! Didn't he even love his own Mother ?? Such a horrible horrible crime !! This is exactly why you don't try to control your children once they are grown, make them move out and make their own mistakes !! Not that most kids or adults are this damn crazy ! He did all this for a woman he could see on a screen !! CRAZY !!

      Fascinating that Margaret and Chad Amato raised three sons - two were decent, loving boys but the youngest, Grant, turned out a ruthless psychopath who loved nobody but himself, and murdered the three people closest to him in cold blood. How did that happen???
      Jason is a credible witness who says there was no abuse in the family. It appears all three boys were loved and well cared for in a secure and loving home. So why did Jason turn out so different to his brothers?
      This case adds credence to the theory that psychopaths are born, not made.

    • @claudeyaz
      @claudeyaz 5 лет назад +37

      @@growinglifeorganic940 nah man. Check out and go to "Jim Can't Swim" RUclips channel. He does break downs of police interrogations. He breaks down the interrogation techniques, criminal body language, and other interesting parts of police interrogations.
      He did one about Grant Amoto. Grant literally spent his famimlies entire life savings. 200,000, on a cam girl. Mooched off his family for living expenses and didn't pay rent or help out. And he believed a cam girl he paid for by the minute , whom he told he was a millionaire, was in love with him.
      He has serious social problems. Problems about knowing what is right and wrong. And even if he knows what is wrong. He has no issues with doing wrong. No guilt.
      Also has serious issues understanding relationships.
      Grant is very much guilty. Even if Jason had problems with his family relationships. That doesn't mean some conspiracy is going on. Grant, in the original police interrogation, easily said he wasnt close to Jason, because he was adopted. Instead of saying Jason is his brother. Grant said in the interrogation, "he is adopted. He is my mom's son", Grant couldn't easily call him his brother.
      Grant killed his family. He is messed up in the head. And he is very manipulative. Very manipulative.

      @@glamdolly30 psychopaths are born. But not all psychopaths hurt others or murder people. But psychopaths are more likely to be criminals than non psychopaths.
      But this Grant guy. I'm not sure what diagnosis he has. If he is a literal psychopath or not. But he is definitely a murderer. He also had previously spent his famimlies entire life savings. He felt no guilt or shame for doing so. That should have been a red flag for his family.

    • @glamdolly30
      @glamdolly30 5 лет назад +22

      @@claudeyaz Yes, I tend to agree Grant has to be a psychopath and sadly his family failed to set down and maintain boundaries with him. That made him a dangerous psychopath. You are right, not all psychopaths become killers - some are successful captains of industry and the like. I believe the current theory is psychopaths are created by a combination of nature and nurture. The brains of psychopaths have been studied and they were found to be different. They have weaker neurological pathways to the areas controlling emotions like love, guilt, empathy etc. If a psychopath has a good, loving childhood with clear boundaries and good values, they can turn out decent members of society who do no harm. But a psychopathic brain, coupled with a poor childhood - ie one featuring abuse or, as in the case of Grant Amato, indulgence, can produce a dangerous individual.
      The Amato family is a very interesting example for psychiatric study. I hope experts will make use of Grant while he spends the rest of his life in prison, and study his brain and learn more about his upbringing. By all accounts the father Chad was a strict disciplinarian, which suggests Grant was given boundaries. Why did he grow up to feel entitled to steal his father's $200k retirement fund, and then entitled to kill his family when they set down rules about continuing to live in their house?
      As his surviving brother told him when he visited him in the police interrogation - they could have had him jailed for what he did. And now it's clear they made a big mistake in not doing so.

    My heart aches for Jason. He not only lost his Mom and Dad, but both his brothers at the same time. If you watch the confession when Jason comes in to talk to Grant he tells him he loves him but he doesn't want him around him because he is afraid. He also tells him that he has to plan 3 funerals and he doesn't feel like Grant has a right to help him. He has to make his families final arrangements with no support. He has to go through his families belongings without his brother!! How horrible that must feel!!

    I feel SO horrible for Jason. He told his brother he was terrified of him, because he said he knew he killed his parents and brother, and has two stepdaughters and their mother to support, who depend on him, and that he couldn't trust even being in the same room with Grant until he was presented with evidence of Grant's innocence.
    Absolutely heartbreaking.
    Edit; The contrast between the two brothers is STAGGERING. Jason is on the witness stand, fighting through tears to describe the events surrounding his initial contact with the police after learning what happened to his family. How they shut down his place of employment completely, searched his vehicle and his house, and essentially turned his entire world upside down trying to figure out what was going on.
    Meanwhile, Grant is sitting there listening, looking STONE-faced, seemingly unmoved at all hearing his brother's account of suffering the consequences of somebody else's actions.
    Even during the interrogation footage, Grant doesn't show any emotions. It's like the violent deaths of his parents and his own brother just brush right off of him. He's totally unaffected.
    This, folks, is what we call a "HUGE red flag." lol I can understand someone being resentful about his father. Because of the strict rules he was forced to live by in order to keep living under their roof. But, only a stone cold KILLER would shrug off this much empathy and not at least appear to feel bad for what his last surviving brother had to go through because of him.
    It's staggering how apparently he just doesn't care.

      Chad laid down some pretty strict rules for Grant and they honestly were more like rules that would be given to a kid 13 or 14 years old. However, if Grant didn't like the rules (and he didn't) he was TWENTY-NINE years old. Just get out of the house! But of course if he moved out he would have to support himself and he was apparently horrified at the very thought of doing such a thing as that. Mom and Dad (and Cody) made a GRAVE mistake when they moved heaven and earth to keep him out of prison when he stole money and apparently moved large amounts of cash to the point that he had the FBI looking into the possibility that he was guilty of money laundering. It's a pity they didn't allow him to face the consequences for that earlier crime because if they had, he would have been safely locked up somewhere, unable to contact his dearly beloved camgirl and unable to murder his family! Making sure a son or daughter NEVER has to be accountable for any misdeed, very rarely ever turns out to be a good thing but sadly many parents don't seem to understand this.

After he did all those things he even tried to frame his father and used their cold dead hands to unlock their phones.
