  • If Meatloaf can record a version of this, so can I.

No idea how Gershwin did it all, but he did it so well. 💖

I'm the same age as he was when he died and I feel like I can barely tie my shoes.

@@sjaakdouma That's why my hack for this age and onwards is to wear shoes that you can just slip in and out of (with the aid of a schoenlepel because this body's creakin')
Some people have such an overabundance of talent that their life can't encompass it. 🖤
Makes me think of these lines again from a Mary Oliver poem that is, sadly, always apt:
"Let me be urgent as a knife, then, / and remind you of Keats, / so single of purpose and thinking, for a while, / he had a lifetime."

@@kobitoergosum Haha yes, I have slip-ins and I'm never looking back. Dang, that's a beautiful poem. I've never heard of her, thanks for introducing me!

@@sjaakdouma Heck yeah, slip-ins are the best!
You're very welcome. I've been sharing her Fourth Sign of the Zodiac poem especially for years and years now because, in all its hopelessness, it's still so adamantly loving of nature and life. To use my own words from when she died a few years ago, "Her words meant everything".

Meatloaf cover album would be a great followup to the Randy Newman album
