Such a pleasure to watch your videos. I think your charm and politeness pays off when talking to the sellers. You managed to get some very good bargains! :)
Hi Jack, It's not only TV that has ruined reselling it is also the countless videos on RUclips of buyers showing how they source stock. It's great that resellers do these videos, but you have to understand that sellers can also watch them, and they are learning quickly (as are the charity shops) and prices are going up.
Hi Paul. Totally agree. Despite being small fish in a much larger worldwide reselling pond... We sometimes question whether we are potentially shooting ourselves in the shoot by making the videos. But we enjoy creating them, documenting our journey and the items we find. I feel if people really want to know the value of items these days, the internet is a wealth of knowledge at anyone's fingertips. Hopefully we can all continue to evolve and refine our skills to ensure we keep on selling 🙏🏻💸💚
@@GlobalThrifters Good luck with it Jack, I wasn't having ago, I was just saying that sellers are more aware of it. I enjoy all the thrifting videos on RUclips.
That's EXACTLY what I was going to say dude, what the resellers do is great I think, but I wouldn't go around shouting my mouth off about it 24/7 on RUclips like a lot of them do, especially if it was my full time job, fair enough if it's just a part time hobby, but if my income depended on it, I wouldn't let my competition know my way of working & thinking, not a snowballs chance in hell
Hi Jack, Emily and wee man Remy, great vid once again, really nice to see u out again. Good haul u got there, loved the lamp. Keep doing what u do best, love ur Channel and u guys xxx Gem
Great to see you back doing more videos. The Beatles album is a great album sold it last year did a test play and it could have been written today. Thanks for the content JREmily Cheers 🐒
Thank you! 🙏🏻 It's nice to be back. Hopefully get into a good flow and create videos regularly. We rarely pick up records so always good to try when the price is affordable! 💸💚
With big box pc games, if you can get them for a few quid each, you're never likely to make a loss. The three that I could see around 2:33 would be around 30 each.
"Obviously The Beatles are a band with sought after records and stuff" is possibly the understatement of the year Jack 😃. Great video, thanks for posting
Live in pompey aswell and I went to church sale in copnor 2 weeks before lockdown in copnor. Boxed Dreamcast with games for 4.80 gave the old lady a fiver but she gave me £1 back as I was buying it all. Felt so bad but also so happy walking out with it so they are always worth a look!
I picked up some Brass chalisies few weeks ago in a lot , I didn't make lots on them still turned a profit , but they sold quickly and its all a good learning for future buys . I can never find another thing to bundle when I'm at a stall 😂 to get a better deal . love these segment vids guys really nice viewing great stuff and quality pick ups too ! 💚👍
3:04 BUY! Herbert Terry 1227 prices are now crazy. 25:04 Jam pan. I have two large ones on my Kitchen wall. Cool video guys, nice to see you back although if Jack shows anymore leg you two are getting an adult rating on your videos, he was one cough away from getting arrested atleast three times. My buying places (1) Auctions, (2) fairs (3) Boots,, Top pick (not telling)
I should have held out for the full price for the lamp! But £25 into £95 plus the Christmas lights was a good enough deal to get it sold! We also sold the jam pan last night, took an offer of £40 all in with postage which we're happy with as it's only a small one! Glad you enjoyed the videos Sean, I'll try not to slip too much leg in next time 😂
We're just waiting on the roof to be done by the guys, hopefully this week but keeps getting pushed back! Once that's done, that video will be ready to go. Then the one after will be focusing on what we've been doing inside! 🏠🙏🏻
smashing video - I think car boots by far are the best way of sourcing at least currently (charities getting right to the bottom at this phase and price increases lol) :)
Thank you! Car boots are a great way to source and personally our favourite. But we would like to get back to auction houses as you can sometimes pick up a bargain! Charity shops are always hit or miss 🤷🏻♂️💚
@@GlobalThrifters interesting. I dont have such a good experience with auctions. Dont have any nearby and unsuccessfully participated in a few online auctions. Very small margins and mostly dead stock. I guess everywhere is different :)
I understand your point. However, the sellers at the car boot sales are happy to sell their goods, take less stuff home and have a few extra pounds in their pocket. Resellers are everywhere! You're probably dealing with them more than you think. Thanks for watching! 🙏🏻💚
@@GlobalThrifters Well no offense as its nothing personal, but as a game collector and preservationist, i have nothing but bad experience with all kinds of resellers (ones reselling on the carboots and ones buying on carboot and reselling online). Its really easy to find out a reseller, the following are the good indicators: games ruined by storing them in bad condition (outside in sun/rain), pricing bad to awful condition games similarly to pristine ones found on ebay, not knowing the stuff they are selling, the list goes on. Of course, there may be decent resellers out there, who price their items fairly and treat goods with respect, but I've been observing resellers on a few local car boots and my heart bleeds how many of the old games are irreversibly destroyed in the process of "reselling" them. That on a large scale just inflates the pricing bubble and is speculation- the more games are ruined or destroyed, the more games are owned by the resellers, sitting in plastic boxes full of rainwater in their backgardens, and the higher prices they sell for on ebay. Sorry, but destroying cultural heritage for a relatively small gain is just evil.
