No. This was the last real Dakar. I liked 1997 due to the route, but they banned the prototypes which I think was a mistake. 2004-2018 rally was good. Now in Saudi Arabia its a bit of a joke.
They took it to South America because it was not safe in Africa anymore. Islamic terrorist groups attacked racers and race organization in the last edition. Everybody agrees to say the Paris-Dakar was better while in Africa, it was just not possible anymore and still not as of today.

I liked the South America edition. Dakar is in a bad shape since 2019, racing just in one country. I like there is Monaco-Dakar rally.
