I remember Delray from the early 70's. Boy was it a dump. Amazing how it's transformed. It always was a quaint escape from Boca. I last lived therein 1980. In an old duplex rent was $245 month. I could of bought the place for like $22k. Same street where the old little Masonic lodge was on. West Atlantic was the ghetto back then and very dangerous. You'd get beer bottles thrown at your car if you drove down there at night. Good thing about gentrification it cleans up the crime and riff raff. Nice video.
Hey Paul, Thanks for another great video of Delray Beach!!! Love Delray Beach & Boca Raton & looking foward to moving from the Gulf Coast of Florida over to this Awesome area!!!
Definitely check it out if you get the chance, lots to do and see, the beaches are nice and wide so there's plenty of room to social distance and in the winter time it's fantastic because the weather is perfect. Thanks for watching Paulie "cool name" 😉
Heading to Delray Beach this weekend. Hopefully all those restaurants survived the Covid era and are still open. Also hope they still have the awesome 4th of July celebrations that we heard about. Thank you for the terrific tour !
Eric thanks for watching, a lot of those restaurants are open and there's even more since I made this video. Have a great time, feel free to reach out to me, I'm happy to answer any questions you might have about what to do in Delray
@@PalmBeachesPaul Wow. That is very nice of you . In that case, a couple quick questions....how are the Japanese Gardens ? Is there a Japanese restaurant within ? Is the Pinball museum expensive ? I have to pay for 7 people everywhere we go , lol. Had a few more questions but I must be getting old because I forgot them. I will blame it on pre- trip nervousnous.
The Morikami Gardens are absolutely beautiful and one day I'm going to go make a video there if they will allow me, I do believe there is a place to eat lunch there it's been a while since I went. The Pinball Museum is awesome, these prices are from their website, you can do a full day for $20 or a half day for $17, kids under 4 are free. That gives you access to all the games and then if you want to eat or drink those would be separate fees. I also made a full-length video about this place go to my playlist on my RUclips channel and then look for the video called the coolest place in Delray Beach
@@PalmBeachesPaul Thank you. I will go check out your other videos. I think Palm Beaches Paul needs to be nominated as a true Florida treasure. At the very least, Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year !
Thanks for watching Joe. It was really crowded that day and hard to film the beach. I do have a video called My Favorite Beaches you should check that one out
Oh my. You biked right next to my condo in Pineapple Grove looking out on The Ray. I'm glad I don't live there now so I don't have to deal with all the noise. I haven't been there since they started building. Is it looking good?
Hi Paul enjoy your videos. My wife and I are thinking about a condo/townhouse in the Soho or Pineapple areas you mentioned in this video . We like new construction but if there is not enough of that will consider very resently built, ie 1 or 2 years old. Can you help direct us to some of these, it's a little crazy trying to do this online. Maybe rent an apartment to get to know the area first might be a good idea.
Hi Peter thanks for watching, I would love to help you and your wife. Here's my email please contact me and we can discuss in private.. Paulglykins@kw.com
Very appealing content! Another realtor/RUclipsr mentioned that Delray Beach is “in transition” (lol 🤔) which I believe implies it’s becoming undesirable and unsafe in certain areas? Accurate? That would be very sad. Any decent non luxury condos in DRB?
It's been in transition for the past 10 years, it's one of the most popular places to move to in Palm Beach county but its not cheap, as far as crime, I've never had an issue and I lived there for 2 years before we moved, we did have my sons bike stolen but that was it. There are some nice condos off Linton Blvd and out west past I-95. Shoot me an email if you want to talk.
Delray was a great place to live until it got all built up. Now it's too crowded like all the good places in FL. BTW, I tap danced on that Old School Square stage one New Year's Eve with my bestie. Good times!
Thanks for watching I don't know if it's free I know there's parking spaces there and then there's Dunkin Donuts right next to it but I think there's signs that say you will be towed so unless you're eating a Doc's you probably can't park there.
I will be moving down to Delray Beach in the next couple months into a 55 and older community. I was just wondering if I got on my bike within the community example Kings point could I safely ride my bike into Delray Beach in any of the areas he mentioned. I am able to normally ride 20 miles in one direction. I just want to make sure of the safety factor are there bike lanes he seem to be riding on the sidewalk can you explain that to me because in Pennsylvania you’re not allowed to ride on the sidewalks thank you and I’m looking forward to being a neighbor
Born and raised here. I love my city!
You're a lucky man to have been born and raised in such a cool city with so much history. Thanks for watching Jay I appreciate it.
Looks amazing! The man, the myth, the bike.... 🤣👏
I live in the area. Definitely my favorite beach. I like The Blue Anchor and Bostons.
fun places
Also, this is the first time I found your video and I really enjoyed it. I’ll be looking forward to seeing the rest of them.

How about The Blue Anchor?
I like that one too. Featured them in my Halloween video about haunted places, go check it out.

It's still an amazing place, yes a little more crowded but still fun and beautiful.
I miss Docs.
Me too, great local place now just a memory.
I used to park by Doc's for free when I lived in Delray. I'm talking about the area behind Doc's. Is there still free parking there?

yes. It is still free. The big lot behind DD and across from tennis center. There is also the free parking next to city hall.

The bike ride from Kings point to the beach would be extremely difficult. There are no real bike trails on that part of Atlantic Avenue.
