    Thanks for another great video. I had HIFU treatment last year at Duke. I had 3 spots (one 3+3 and two 3+4). This year my psa rose and an mri and pet scan picked up another lesion. This one I believe is close to the urethra. I meet with the doctor tomorrow to talk about next steps. Two of my questions for tomorrow are concerns around urethra and if a biopsy is needed to determine the grade of cancer. There are other questions of course. My doctor was up front last year that if needed I would be a candidate for a second focal therapy. We shall see what happens.

      My name is Sal. If your getting a byopsy on that new lession, Dr Scholz would recommend to do a live Open Bore MRI. Not a TRUS.
      Unless Dr Scholz has updated his HIFU concerns, he would recommend FT Radiatio over HIFU
      Good luck Brother.

    You took my post down… did I say something wrong? I was merely trying to provide my story and watchful hints… I truly apologize If you found something inappropriate… was not my intentions… PCRI is a lifesaver and I wanted to support your efforts…

    I watch (almost) every single video on this channel. I am (was?) a patient of Dr. Scholz and he is one of the most informed and educational physicians I have ever met or heard from.
    That given, I see a lot of information from this channel and other sources about diet. Most recommend avoiding meat and going to a vegetable-rich diet. Given the recent positive information on carnivore diets, it would seem prudent to reexamine the recommendations and limit the admonishment against meat to be more specific to processed meats. Any commercially processed meat is going to contain nitrates, nitrites and other preservatives that are very harmful to the human endocrine system when consumed regularly. A more natural diet must be healthier regardless of the food group content. In summation, I'm never giving up healthy meat but I'm cutting out processed wheat (bread and pasta) and processed meat (bacon, sausage). Low Gleason 7 for 7 years.

    I noticed that PCRI actually reads the comments so I have a question. I read that vigorous exercise like riding a bike can raise the PSA. Could really, really, vigorous kicking while swimming freestyle raise the PSA temporarily?

      @MM-sf3rl 3 месяца назад +2

      I’m not sure about the swimming, but for other readers, bike riding and sex (I did both) will raise the PSA. I went from a PSA of 11 (waited 5 days) to 9.

      @@MM-sf3rl I had some sort of infection after returning from a trip overseas. My PSA dropped by 3 points a week after there were no longer signs of an infection. I am now looking to see what else can affect PSA levels. The information on bike riding affecting PSA lead me to ask the question about swimming.

      My doctor recommends no sex for 3 days prior to having my PSA checks as it may cause a temporary rise in the PSA. It's all about trying to reduce the variance of results over time. He's not mentioned anything about exercise. Interesting question though.

      Hello Gary,
      We do not have conclusive evidence on this but you could check your PSA again and compare the numbers after a certain amount of time. You can reach out to our helpline team here pcri.org/helpline. They can share information on affordable locations to get a PSA test.

      @@ThePCRI That's a great idea! I will stop swimming (2 1/2 hours vigorously per session twice a week ) for five days and then take a PSA. It will be interesting to see the results.
