17:20 Not that true for NSUT anymore. I'm studying at NSUT, and currently, I'm in my 2nd semester (gonna be 3rd in 12 days). The fact is, NSUT has the semesters in short lengths i.e. 3-3.5 months. Surprisingly, the syllabus remains precisely the same which was designed for a full-length semester (5-6 months). So, there is a lot to cover in these 3-3.5 months while maintaining a 75% attendance in each subject (Some teachers are pretty lenient here but some are just stubborn so we have to maintain it to be on the safer side). Now, in each semester we have 2 class tests (as internal assessments), the Mid-Semester Exams - only theory (just after 40-45 days of the commencement of the semester), and the End-Semester exams - Both theory and practical (starting after around 3 months). The classes are conducted offline from 8 am to 6 pm with a 2-hour break in between from Mon-Fri. Among them, some teachers are not able to take the class due to some important department work so the usually rescheduled classes are taken in online mode on Sat and Sun. So, the whole week gets hectic and tiresome, not leaving much free time to do what you like. Many people can still do that but speaking from a common point of view, it's hard to find that personal time.

Aman, if NIRF ranking is based on professors, labs, greenery, activities, then that is best to look for...package is based on onez achievenent when he or she is good college with all these good facilities....package could be one of the factors, not the only one
once the placements are good eventually you get everything in the college good because if any of the factors (facilities, labs ,prof , location etc..)pull back the performance of students or college would directly affect the placements ..................so , yeah don't take NIRF seriously even I saw few colleges that do not deserve those ranks in NIRF
