Idk how he can say that when he literally describes everything that was happening around him, completely contradicts that statement. People in his environment were selling drugs, carrying guns and Shootins and shit, his mom shooting up heroin, is not good people around you. To him it was good people cause it was all he knew(product of your environment). If he was in a nice area and parents were stable and had money his mind state would be different. He wouldn't have to make the choices he did to survive. His mind state would be completely different because of his environment.

@@anthonyc1075 you choose to sell drugs. You choose to be a pimp. You choose to be a gangster. Not everyone in that environment choose those things. Some choose to be a doctor. I knew how to lay low/move around and be aware of certain situations that could affect my current circumstances at the time. I did spend alot of time back and forth from the city and burbs; but it was choices that affect the individuals moreso than environment, environment does play a big role though and the people you surround yourself with. If you surround yourself with negative people regardless of where you live; most of the time you will follow suite and do the same.

Best interview hands down. I like the way Flip slowed the story down and walked the OGs through the sequence of events. Incredible story. The story is captivating and will inspire others to come forward and help the community. Also, it gives you a glimpse or the crack era in the 80s. Notice how young they started in the streets. At 10, I was scared to ride the train by myself much less try to stick up someone, get caught, and get sent to Spottford. To be 100%, and I'm 43 years old, I would be shook to death to go through any of that shit. LMAO!

Y’all need to listen to this man Nuke very closely. A very wise and caring man in his older years. And not only that, u can tell he been that way since a youth but lead astray like we all have in one form or another in our youth. And no I don’t have a dog in the fight. Never been to New York. Im way down south in Florida. But this man, can teach a lot of people some things. May GOD bless you Mr. Jennings.

Glad to see how these dudes are helping to change the community now. That's a blessing to be able to do good in a place you did wrong... There are a lot more opportunities now!!! Those dudes are my uncle's age... Same thing. It wasn't environment but choices. Plenty people in the hood make the right decisions. It takes a real mad to admit that. Respect to these two.

Powerful Interview! I can fully relate to every topic all the way to the format that the sister(Carizma)put forth.I definitely want to affiliate myself with the vision theyre introducing. I did 11 years behind the wall(wrongfully convicted of armed robberies) so i know the walk.I really want to apply myself to this movement!!

Clearly they never heard M.O.P. because they wouldn't be debating so long about the Hill in the beginning. All M.O.P. talk is about the hill. Plus Ocean Hill actually has real history regarding the schooling situation in the 60's.
