Living 1 Month In The Philippines Was Not Enough

- We picked The Philippines to be our home for the month during the Holidays so we could celebrate Christmas and New Years in Manila.
Not that we had grand plans for either, but we knew The Philippines was one of the only countries in SE Asia that celebrates Christmas and heard Manila really knows how to put on a fireworks show for New Years.
Unfortunately, we all got very sick the day after arriving. Our Christmas and New Years was spent mostly inside resting and trying to recover. The New Years celebration was awesome and Manila displayed the largest fireworks show I've ever seen. It was still special.
We spent the last two weeks of our time trying to make the best out of the days that remained. We did get to explore and check out some cool places with the kids so we wanted to share those adventures. We hope you enjoy this video.

I think having Elmo as your tour guide in Intramuros is way better to roam around with lots of information. It’s worth it for the fee. And you don’t have to walk around which will make you all tired after the stroll. San Augustine Church is the oldest in Manila.
Bring them to the Manila Ocean Park where they can enjoy the sea creatures like fishes, feed the penguins, reptiles and sea lion and bird show. Kids will surely enjoy watching them.

Easy to visit Rizal Park and Ocean Park on the same day. Free AC spots near by include the Art Museum and Philippines Natural History Museum….On the other side of Rizal Park. US Embassy is also right next door to Ocean Park….Dolomite Beach isn’t far…..

This time of year in the Philippines is very hot. Maybe you can visit a place like Baguio or Bukidnon the place is cooler .

Take the kids to Jollibee which always the kids comfort food there. Jollibee has spaghetti and yummy burger, crispy fried chicken joy and very good pineapple juice that kids love. Try it and your family will love it. I just subscribed. Your blog is entertaining and with the kids it’s more fun to watch. That is the biggest IKEA in the world, which is in the MOA complex. Mall of Asia is the one of the biggest mall in the world. Have you ever wonder why there are lots of huge malls in the Philippines? It’s because Filipinos love to hang out in the mall. Why? Because they love to chill.

When you go to any mall you can always find Jollibee. You have to try the Spagetti and peach mango pie. Their fried chicken is one of the best and better with the gravy. Try the chicken with the ketchup with rice. They also have chocolate sundae. Kids are always picky on food, but there are lots of choices on food out there. Keep them trying variety of food and maybe sooner or later they will develop a certain taste bud that they will prefer to eat. Filipinos prefer Jollibee for sure and I don’t like McDonald’s spaghetti. Last time I visited Manila I tried it and it was no good compared to Jollibee’s spaghetti.

Are you guys back in the Philippines already? The people of the Philippines are so friendly. Thailand and the Philippines are my favorite countries in Asia!! Wonderful people! And beautiful beaches.
Unfortunately at this time of the year the temperatures are rising and it makes it very uncomfortable to be outdoors no matter how beautiful it is. It is time to head to the highlands to cooler temperatures and enjoy the tea plantations in India and Sri Lanka, that i know of. Maybe the mountaunous areas in Northen india like Kashmir or Ladakh also would be cool. They are very beautiful and cool.
It is reported that temperatures in all tropical areas in Asia are very oppressive right now. A couple of YTers pointed out that even in the Philippines right now that the temperatures are oppressive. In Thailand they said they don't remember it being so blistering hot like it is right now. One cannot walk out of an a/c room, they said it was opening a furnace door. Unfortunately we are experiencing Climate Change whether folk choose to believe it or not.
I just read yesterday that my favorite game reserve in Kenya, Masai Mara, experienced the worst flooding. They have luxurious tents in the bush to live in with world class cuisine with all the produce driven in on dirt roads hundreds of miles into the bush to prepare those meals. Sadly the tourists had to excape a few days ago and climb trees to excape the rising waters. Tanzania, which you guys visited, also experienced the worst flooding in the country causing many deaths. Unfortunately, this was all predicted with Climate Change and tragically it is only going to get worse. Sorry to be a downer.
Since the kids like to be outdoors, a cooler climate near by, like high altitude areas, maybe better for them until the temperatures come down. 21:42 24:47

Hi! I came across this vlog from you. You asked how to make children eat? Offer them incentives (food or things they want or want to do when traveling). Make them eat first before they get what they want. That trick is foolproof raising my daughter -- it really worked well. It's something she looked forward to getting IF she finishes her food.
Wow so many activities at the malls . If only the malls of usa is like these full of stuff to do and tons of people but yet malls here are dying. Love this video . I miss my motherland. So many changes

if you want cheap clothes for an event thats last minute buy filipino brands for most cost effective, thing to remember the sizing are filipino size so you'll have to get a size or 2 bigger

Christmas is too crowded in Manila. I suggest going in November as Filipinos start decorating in September LOL.
The long plane ride and tropics will dehydrate. Wash hands and phones. Sanitizer your hands, toys, games and seats. They sell travel size alcohol sprays in Manila.
If you have never been there before your gut is not ready for street food. Chug gatorade at the first sign of anything.
When sweaty do not stand in front of the Fan. For picky kids try adobo with white rice or Filipino spaghetti. Bring gummy vitamins , bananas and probiotics.
And brush your teeth with bottled water.

Sure did. We've been to Ikea in a dozen countries or so. Bali had the smallest I've ever seen and when we walked into Ikea at the Mall of Asia I was a little blown away. It's so big.
