In the time since you posted your comment, I have converted a friend of mine who was born the year after Rush's first album and his 20 year-old son.😎🤘
Rest in peace, Neil Peart. When I was 6 years old in 2000, my dad gave me rush albums for christmas since i couldn’t stop listening to his own cds. To this day, you and the rest of rush are a foundational force in why I am a musician to this day.
Your father did you a huge favor lol! My 19 year old son has just come around to realize how great they are. Did you ever get a chance to see them live? I saw them 8 times myself.
Yeah right , Alex Lifeson underrated , he is one of the few guitarists guitar players. Underrated is the fashion on RUclips for people who don't have anything to say about a band/artist.
I've been a drummer for 15 years. 7 yrs as a guitarist, now I understand what it means to write the perfect part for a song, to fit in well, to play the atmospheric tones. It's rush songs like this one that reaffirm to me what it means to be an all around amazing musician, and i mean that from the writing stages to the performances. Lifeson is amazing at what he does. Sad that he often gets pushed to the side while drummers love Neil and bassist love geddy. Lifeson's tones and wiriting = gold
Alex just completely shreds this solo to pieces... just jaw dropping! People always talk about La Villa Strangiato, then I have to remind them of the songs on this album...
@@robkennedy9023 The Limelight solo seems so simple but it is actually complicated. I saw an interview with him where he had his guitar and broke it down. I was beyond amazed.
While it's always impossible to pick a best Alex Lifeson solo, this is one that truly stands out and sounds like something that has never been heard before. Amazing !!!
Signals and Grace Under pressure were only two years apart. Signals was 1982 and Grace was 1984. Some songs they didn't use on Signals probably ended up on Grace Under Pressure.

The opening guitar riff on this song is so.....hmmm, you know I could play that riff over and over and over again! I love during the solo when Neil picks up the beat and you start jumping around and throwing furniture off the wall. And the synth is so soft and melodic. RUSH you make me so proud! Love you T.O. boys!
This whole album is great. Really not a bad track on here. My brother had a friend who liked this song a lot. He is the most responsible for getting me into this band.

Superb, underappreciated song from the Rush canon. Neil's lyrics, Geddy's top notch vocal delivery and Alex's uniquely applied guitar melody and solo are, as always with these all-time greats, spot on.
This is one my favorite Rush songs, and I have been a fan since I was 8 or 9 years old back in the late 70s. There is somthing surreal and beautiful about this song. It might be the beautiful guitar work by Alex, or the relevant lyrics by Neil. At any rate, a most excellent song.
It's amazing how one song can bring you back to an instance in time. Even if you can't remember the place you can certainly remember what you felt when you heard the song. RIP Neil.

Criminally underrated
That opening delayed riff, combined with the cover art, take me to another world.
so true
The cover art for this album sets the tone like no other rush album and thats saying something
Yeah, icy, distant, futuristic , but the red droplets and the sinead o'connor clone in the foreground adds a bit of humanity.... I think?
True its all a powerfull package
And when you get there I say: welcome
Has always amazed me how Rush can have songs with such different sounds, yet you can always tell it's them...
