I've owned 1 of these beastly coupes for over 4 years now, I watched this review just before I bought it in 2014. This video is the reason I decided to pay the extra for the 507 and I'm so glad I did!. Absolutely amazing car!! I've had so much fun in it over the year's, when the warrenty ran out, I couldn't get rid of it like I have done with all other cars before so I tuned it to 560hp and fitted switchable IPE exhaust so it's super loud when you want it. Only 22k miles, I barely use it nowadays but I'll always keep it...the last of the 6.2s 😢

Great review, you really seem to understand the purity of this car. Took delivery of mine new in Feb of 2012 (in preference, I would add, to an E63) and I love it to bits - never had a dull mile in this car, even in C mode….its wonderful to live with, very comfortable (even for a 6-footer like me) and smooth when you want it to be, but a real hooligan when you don't. Real character. There's something about the cabin that makes you feel a part of the car - like my old M3, just much better. The petrol consumption isn't that bad, at least to me. The only thing I'd even think of changing it for is a 507, but even then….you are surely right about this car heading for classic status, but it already has it. I've lost count of the compliments I get and the number of people stopping to listen to it…..mechanical music. I may well hang on to this car, just as well I decided against the E and spent a small fortune speccing this baby up with optional extras - all depreciating away, of course, but who cares!

one of your best reviews yet. every one of your arguments makes sense to me. also i love the POV scenes, and the fact that they are just the right length - meaning we get the full impression of a certain aspect of a car's handling, like driving through a couple of corners on a winding country road, or acceleration from entering the autobahn to very high speeds. uninterrupted POV scenes are great for gaging a car's performance and driving behavior
Another great video and another great car. My oldest son used to have a C63 AMG that just sounded mean. Then he started a family and had to go the way of the SUV. My youngest son bought himself an M Roadster, which isn't nearly as mean sounding, but still great fun to drive (when he visited us one time and let me take it out for a spin). But again TheGetawayer, you're turning out some really cool videos. You have your own style as opposed to trying to copy the look of Top Gear UK test drive videos that so many people try to do and fail miserably. Again, well done.

Good that it doesnt get to You. You speak fluent english, just with a hard German accent. What people dont know is that english is a germanic language :). I like Your reviews man, but I have a bit of an advice for You. Try adding some tracking of some cars. Even try reviewing some modified cars: alpina, hamman, brabus etc... Take care!

I think it could be true that the setup was made a bit easier to handle, because I only had traction problems when I was really brutal in the lower gears. But I have to say that it was very hot and dry during my two weeks of testing. I think the Continental tires work amazing considering they are just 255s in the rear. Great review, I love your reviews! So honest and practical,. I test drove this car based on your review. Just loved the car. You feel like a man in this car. So powerful, the noise was awesome, but too loud for my neighbourhood unfortunately. The ride was firm, a bit too firm for my wife that got a bit car sick. Ultimately, the mileage stopped me from buying the car, and I regret not getting it now.
IT'S 2021 and love this C63 AMG edition 507 W204...gorgeous looks, great power and hypnotic sound. WILL be a classic no doubt. AWESOME video very complete. How different is the 507 from the Black Series?
As far as the engine goes, there is hardly any difference. If you want the chassis and aero for track use, go with a BS. I'd have a 507. Cleaner looks, same fun on the road
I haven't driven the A45 or CLA45 yet. I asked AMG for them, but from October on their testcar fleet is stored. So you'll have to wait until 2014 before I get the chance to give you my opinion on them... This C63 speaks for itself. I absolutly love it ! Greetings from germany, TheGetawayer

The engine sound is just epic ! It's the same as the SLS AMG . A while ago I was at the nurburgring and saw a SLS doing some tests on the nordschleife. It was making that same specific AMG sound. It just gave me goosebumps :-) . Your reviews are getting better all the time. It amazes me how professional looking the filming has become. Keep going Guido !

The thing that German car companies are starting to mess up on is that you don't buy a C63, M3, or an RS4, to save gas. You buy them for the power and the driving experience.

TheGetawayer I was never really a fan of the CLA anyways. I always felt like it was an out of place Mercedes. I've always liked the GL63 AMG personally. My cousin has one and boy is it a fun thing to drive. Shit on gas but even my cousin said the same thing. I didn't buy this to save gas. I would of bought a Prius instead. I got it for the experience.
Exactly. If I break 10mpg in the city it means I've been on my best behavior. What I do when the fuel needle gets low is...get more fuel. There's a guy in my building who has a license plate (on an Audi RS5) that reads "12MPG". I saw it and thought "Twelve? That's nothing, I sometimes average seven."
Excellent review. Only thing I would add is that the worst fuel consumption comes from driving in traffic, not spiritedly. I can drive as fast and aggressive as possible when the streets are free of traffic, and I'll get 14-18L/100km. But in rush hour, it's 20-22L/100km, without breaking the speed limit. Also, on the highway doing an actual 120 kph, it's about 10.5 L/100km, and probably under 10 at 100kph. That's pretty good!
+Fluterra Thanks ! I agree with you on the consumption being better at a constant highway cruise. I had the chance to drive the new turbo C63 and it's abit better yet in that car. The consumption won't hold people back from buying these cars anyway ;)

I took delivery of this vehicle, identical to one driven in video (except with a sunroof) August 1st in Canada I traded my "regular" C63 (451 HP) for this vehicle..I loved the 2011, I love this one even more..it is just that little increment nicer, better, faster than the previous. Another great review Guido. This is a great car and the sound imho is the best and most emotive you can get in any production car.....All the deep rumble of an American V8 at low revs but with the crackle and pop from a race car when you are at revs where a US V8 would fall apart. I agree that this will be a future classic.
Wow, that's great to hear ! I managed a 0-100 km'h time in 4,2 seconds without the race-start active, so it should go into the 3s under ideal conditions. I personally like the wagon / estate version alot, but since I have so many americans viewers and they only get the sedan and the coupe, I tested the sedan. You know Mercedes will go the same way, downsizing and adding Turbos ( think of the SL63, E63 or CLS63 ), so I was happy that I was able to test the final edition of the naturally-aspirated C63. Amazing engine ! Greetings, TheGetawayer

I believe your comments are spot on relative to the current C63 being the last of the big V8's. I have one of these on order with an October build date and I just can't wait to pair it up with my M3. I don't give a rip about fuel economy (you know what they say, If you can afford the auto, you can afford the fuel). Thanks for the great video!!
I really adore this car and the engine inside - the sound is just gorgeous! And that comes from a very huge BMW-Fan. I hope there will always be naturally aspirated engines like this one - even downsizing is omnipresent :/ Nevermind, awesome video as always! :)
Great Video and analysis. I just got my 507 on Aug 1st in Canada. I ended up getting the coupe in black. Love the way it drives, just breaking it in until 1500 km and than at 3000 km need to get the diff fluid done. Once that's done Race Start here I come!
Nah it does depend. The c63 is a lot cooler than that gen m3. The m5 however 💦. V10 engine is great. The amg is actually reliable, which bmw can’t do 😂.

In manual mode it won't shift itself, you will actually hit the limiter if you stay on the throttle. In S or S+ mode it will shift at the red-line like you would expect it to do. I think it's a great transmission. Takes some time to build up a rhythm with it, but then it's very satiesfying to use. Hope that answers your question ! Greetings from germany, TheGetawayer

This is an awesome beast; the M156 engine is a power house! AMG is extending the final production on the 507 coupe starting January :-)

jeebus2121 My boy averages 7 MPG on a 2013 V6 charger. I think that explains enough lol those V6 pull hard I'll tell you that much.

My car gets around 10 mpg in horrible traffic bumper to bumper. At the road course less than 6 mpg go figure.

This is a great car and the sound imho is the best and most emotive you can get in any production car.....All the deep rumble of an American V8 at low revs but with the crackle and pop from a race car when you are at revs where a US V8 would fall apart. I agree that this will be a future classic.

Wow, that's great to hear ! I managed a 0-100 km'h time in 4,2 seconds without the race-start active, so it should go into the 3s under ideal conditions. I personally like the wagon / estate version alot, but since I have so many americans viewers and they only get the sedan and the coupe, I tested the sedan. I believe your comments are spot on relative to the current C63 being the last of the big V8's. I have one of these on order with an October build date and I just can't wait to pair it up with my M3. I don't give a rip about fuel economy (you know what they say, If you can afford the auto, you can afford the fuel). Thanks for the great video!!

Great Video and analysis. I just got my 507 on Aug 1st in Canada. I ended up getting the coupe in black. Love the way it drives, just breaking it in until 1500 km and than at 3000 km need to get the diff fluid done. Once that's done Race Start here I come!

Nah it does depend. The c63 is a lot cooler than that gen m3. The m5 however 💦. V10 engine is great. The amg is actually reliable, which bmw can’t do 😂.

In manual mode it won't shift itself, you will actually hit the limiter if you stay on the throttle. In S or S+ mode it will shift at the red-line like you would expect it to do. I think it's a great transmission. Takes some time to build up a rhythm with it, but then it's very satiesfying to use. Hope that answers your question ! Greetings from germany, TheGetawayer
