- Опубликовано: 24 июл 2024
- Today, we create a tier ranking for the AP classes. In this video, we'll create the ultimate AP class tier list, where we'll rank the classes from S-tier (the best) to F-tier (the worst). Will AP Biology make the top of the list? Or will it be a disappointment? You'll have to watch to find out. We'll take into account factors like difficulty, workload, potential for college credit, and more, to give you a comprehensive guide to the AP program.

Yup, F tier. It’s too easy.
I take CSP rn and I am disappointed because it was mostly just light work, but I also like it because my teacher is fun and its an easy GPA boost for people who absolutely suck at school
why its a F if its too easy ??!@@jrsun
@@genericu2 why its a F if its too easy ??!
@@Mandq. its a waste of time
Admittedly now that I am in CSA, it did kinda help me learn a little bit faster due to the programming segments, but it was overall too easy and most schools won't really care too much about CSP compared to something harder like Stats
I honestly think that a lot of these classes are very highly dependent on the teacher, especially for the more lecture heavy or lab heavy courses where interaction with the teacher becomes very important not only for the enjoyment of the class but for your grade, obviously. However, yes I do agree with your statement on AP World, the geographical general knowledge that it gives you is basically invaluable so you don't just sit in front of a map and look very dumb.
I got a 5 in AP world and I can tell you that I suck at geography and do not remember a single thing from that class XD
@@GB-hn9ir Well good for you then you got a 5, as long as you’re happy :p
My ap calc teacher doesn’t follow the college board course outline 😬😬
Agreed, had a horrible teacher for ap world, who didnt teach and just gave us powerpoints and I got a 2 on that exam, ap euro and apush both had amazing teachers, got 5s on both of them
Great video. enjoyed it. yes, we want to see more of Ben as well in future videos.
It’s very helpful Rishab. Thank you for this video cause I learned a lot as a parent of high schoolers
Glad to hear that!
My most fav AP class is AP Music Theory because its funny learning how almost all pop songs in general are basically the same lol
It is our CSP teacher’s first year teaching CSP, and oh boy, hes making us learn beyond what is taught. Actually force feeding us the info for discrete math and big o notation and analysis
Extremely helpful ranking! I'm slightly disappointed that there wasn't any AP Physics 1 or 2, though. Trying to decide which AP science(s) to take is hard...
For a lot of these classes it highly depends on your teacher. For example, in my school, AP Bio is known to be an abomination and AP Chem is a reasonable well-taught class.
AP Physics 1/2 are pretty interesting classes. They're really conceptual and don't have much grindy calculations. There's a little handwaving sometimes because of the lack of ability to use calculus, but other than that it's really nice. If your ap1/2 teacher isn't bad, I quite highly recommend the class (though I'm biased because our ap physics 1/2 teacher is goated and during the two years I spent taking ap1 and ap2, that was my favorite class)
if you want a prep book of some sort, the 5stepsfora5 book is really good for ap1 because it's the only one I can think of which is written with the ap physics sort of mentality
I haven't found any good ones for ap2
I’ve heard Physics 1 is easy compared to Physics C.
@@RishabJainK I haven't taken physics C (it's not offered by my school) so I can't really vouch, but in my school AP Physics 1 is also viewed as a really hard course (among top 3 hardest classes along with like AP lit and maybe AP Bio???)
so even though it's probably easier than AP C (by virtue of less things being covered in a timeframe) it's probably still a pretty hard course.
Probably also of note is that unlike C, AP 1/2 are introductory physics courses so there's probably more of a learning jump since it's the first time you're introduced to stuff like torque.
I'm not sure though tbh
I mean most people don’t take AP Physics 1 AND AP Physics C since mechanics is a lot of the same content… so you have that steep learning curve for Physics C as well.
@@RishabJainK In alot of schools, physics 1 is labeled as a "not intended for post high school stem fields" its an algebra based physics class that is not intended for higher level physics/math and really a bunch of stem majors
Really like your videos. A motivation to all those students looking to be successful in high school and college.
Glad you like them! Let me know what videos you want to see next :)
Really useful insights, thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Love your personality! Enjoy the rest of senior year ❤❤
thanks!!
Another Great Vid!
Glad you enjoyed!
Acid-base equilibrium with buffers and stuff be crazy
AP Bio in S tier is crazyy
If anyone is wondering abt AP Human: It’s a very fun and interesting class that isn’t super difficult. Very definitional based and focuses mostly on culture and population trends.
Great Video. yes I like to see Ben Chen in the future videos 🙂
Noted!
super helful video.
Great vid Rishab!! Do you guys offer 1 to 1 sessions on college advice?
no because I don't want to charge people money for that BUT I don't have the time to do it :(
so no 1 on 1 sessions and no consulting... I will never sell out for consulting or 1 on 1 sessions
though - might make my own course one day...
Thanks alot man. You just gained a sub
Ben Chen is a cool ass name
Hey Rishab, I am not very STEM-oriented, but rather I have been taking much interest in sociology research. Do you know of any formal programs for fit for psychology, anthropology, and sociology? Thank you so much!
Unfortunately no - as a STEM student I’m not aware of non-STEM programs. Sorry - if I find anything about it I’ll make a video though.
Lmao I’m taking unit 8 of Ap chem right now and I could not agree further! It’s tough stuff
acid bases 😮😮😮
oh my gosh!! oregonian youtubers?? we need to hype up our local talent y'all! anyways i have some to add!! attending lakeridge hs so teachers etc. are different but:
ap human geo: took in freshman year online. teacher was zoned out as heck and i mostly learned by just reading the textbook ("The Cultural Landscape: An Introduction to Human Geography" by james rubenstein if anyone is wondering. it was actually a pretty solid textbook i read it from front to back.) would rate B tier because it was easy and the class itself wasn't very engaging but hey, i was interested enough to read the whole textbook and there were a lot of neat little things, like how cities are laid out, language families around the world, etc.
ap french: took sophomore year. had a pretty strict teacher but taught me a lot about linguistics! (creoles, pidgins, etc.) although from my experience ap language courses are less structured & more just "can you write a solid email in french in 15 minutes without using the same greeting and conclusion as the example email they showed you," so the class was honestly more vibes than substance. if you really want to succeed in the ap exam you have to put in the effort outside of class to listen to podcasts and read articles and stuff. if you're taking the class currently i recommend radiofrance (free podcast app to download), franceinfo (for news articles) and honestly duolingo. people hate on it but it's so good for repetition/retention! and now you can even use chatgpt to practice verb tenses and stuff although i will say i did not remember how to conjugate the subjunctive and still got a 5. solid c-tier class
ap european history: also took sophomore year. really interesting! LOADS better than apush (which i took last year) because it's so dense with actually important stuff (renaissance! enlightenment! wars like every other half-century, and a bajillion revolutions in 1848. like what the heck was in their water that year.) also i had a really cool teacher (shoutout mrs. larson if you're seeing this) who made things super fun and interesting. would also recommend the textbook ("Western Civilization" by jackson spielvogel) because it's one of the more interesting history textbooks i've had the pleasure of being assigned. did run out of time at the end of the course to cover really late 20th century stuff like the EU and yugoslavia and we covered ww1 and ww2 in one day each, but generally covering everything up until that point is enough. a-tier, s-tier if you have a great teacher!!
anyways i agree 100% with the ranking except i self-studied for ap psych so it was lowkey not that fun, but i'm sure the class was amazing. i'm taking lit, econ (structured the same way [we call it micmac it's adorable]), stats, bio, & spanish this year, and self-studying for chinese & gov, so i'm feeling pretty good about where y'all ranked all those classes hahaha
I love ❤your vids cg on 20.5k subs #Roadto30k subs ❤❤❤❤❤
Do people usually take Apchem senior year in your school? I feel like taking it sophomore or junior year is more common in washighton.
yes - that’s the way it’s set up at my school since we take chem freshman year.
If my schoo doesn't offer physics c m or e&m and I want to pursue engineering should i still do ap physics 1? I would be a senior when I do it though so idk if it is too late.
I think it’s worth it to do some physics if you’re planning on doing engineering
I’m surprised you didn’t like stats. Stats was one of my favorite classes.
ngl in AP Physics C: Mech, my experience wasn't that good since basically the whole class gave up after torque so yeah but it's still very easy to get a 4 or a 5.. I was like the night before, I'm just gonna write a lot of bs stuff and did exactly that on the ap test and then I got a 4... also, ap comp sci a is pretty good if you love to code urself... and I would put AP Stats in the F tier.. After Unit 6 or smth, you basically do the same thing over and over (SPDC) and it's just very boring and tedious and plus it's a lot of memorization as you guys said..
0:37 Whats the background music?
I would have to say the hardest to pass is a tie between Calculus AB, Physics, and Statistics.
Hi ❤️ your videos! Can you recommend a channel for for extra help for AP Econ? Thanks in advance, you are the 🐐
APUSH is broken up into 2 years at my school. I tool APUSH 1 sophomore year and I'm taking APUSH 2 rn
is this the same for IBs
Hi Rishab - I didn't see AP Seminar in your ranking? is that not worth taking or has no value?
Our school didn't offer AP Seminar. No thoughts on it, unfortunately.
How did you manage to get into so many AP classes in high school? Does it just depend on which high school you go to? My school doesn't let us take any more than 2 AP classes per year...
It does depend on the high school you are attending. I am currently in 4 AP classes and planning to take 5 next year. Your school may have set a limit on the amount of AP courses a student can take due to the lack of funds or for the students sake. AP courses can be stressful and tedious, so your school might just be looking out for their students. If you want to be more involved in AP after high school, you can take the classes as long as your 21 or under and not enrolled into a college. You may have to pay for the test though.
you can get around that by self studying for ap exam u ordered. a pro is that you can just focus on the relevant materials n not have to deal with unnecessary busy work
Currently taking APES. I really like the class 😭🧌
Environmental science is great but often gets overlooked as a joke class.
Just one question, I appreciate the subtitles, but why did you add an audio waveform at the bottom?
just for fun! was it distracting?
@@RishabJainK not at all! But I questioned the purpose of it.
Ok,so have you decided where you would like to study yet?.... And also if you don't mind sharing your Essays 😊
ruclips.net/video/0oU_f0J7jXQ/видео.html
Lang as a course is A, just because of how useful the content is for the rest of schooling. However, it is the worst class ever, F tier, based on enjoyability.
would taking apes be pointless in hs? just got recommended for it after physics and I've been wondering what it's like
It’s really boring man just don’t the class is easy but the exam is the hardest
The liric video subtitles lol
Both AP Econ definitely F tier. My school offers AP testing in campus for students who go to those AP courses, and for AP Econ, most students take it in ninth grade for fun and it's just ridiculous how more than 80% of the students got two fives with most of them having one hour on the clock when finished the FRQs. Just a rigged course.
I don’t know why, but in my highschool years there were like 8 of us kids, who had our Calculus teacher also be our Calc 3 teacher, because they taught at a local college which our highschool was connected with.
So I did calc AB/BC junior year, and then I did both Calc 3 AND linear Algebra senior year.
It was so weird for me because this and my Physics C stuff made me look to teachers like I was some stud mathematician or whatever, meanwhile I was getting so Drunk I passed out, greening out, just a bunch of stupid shit.
So yeah, going into college (got into UMD on a nearly full ride), I had a series of issues with imposter syndrome where everyone would tell me I was this “gifted kid” where I only saw some white trash West Virginia hick.
someone should do this with Aice classes
Could you make one based on diffuclty rather then actual interest?
absolutely! if this video does well, that is the plan. in fact, my secret target is 10,000 views. If the video hits rhat, i’ll make an updated one just based on difficulty. Subscribing, liking, and watching all the way through helps the video w the algorithm.
Thanks for your support 🎉🎉🎉
I’m not the only one who heard ben’s name as “ben ten”, right?
ap csp is the class i hated the most senior year... it wasn't hard but it was very boring.
didnt take the csp exam since bc was on the same day.
You forgot about my homie AP Comp Sci A...
I am a 9 th grade student. My school does not provide ap classes and exam. So how I can attend ap classes and exam in India at kerala
me watching this even though my school doesnt offer any ap classes
No AP Art?
apcsp is way too easy, I self studied for the course and w/o much effort got a 5. I wish there were harder ap cs courses than what we currently have, because csp and csa are jokes
Because the level of experience determines it all
So zero definition of how they are “ranked”, so seemingly just…ummm… “I liked it”?
But why a actually thinks apcs teacher in collegeboard's classroom teaching very well
I think it's bad that apes is my favorite ap 💀
You guys just had a lousy teacher for AP Statistics. I think you guys should retake that class with a good teacher.
W Psych S Tier
you guys look old for high school seniors
No way AP Chem is D
L
AP PHYSICS is probably at the f rank because it requires a lot of mathematical stuff, and scientific concepts that are abstract. Plus they are very difficult classes that require lots of commitment outside the classroom.
Nope. Can't agree with your rankings. It's extremely biased against courses involving mathematics. You guys are bio guys, and that's great, but this listing should've been based on how well the content of each class makes you ready for higher education rather than your personal opinions
Guy on the left had better takes. Sorry. If taking notes is hard for you, then get ready for struggling in college.
