I think it does a better job here than Spec Ops, because it doesn't need an unnecessary plot-twist and constantly blame the player to prove their point, it just shows the aftermath of your work and it's up to you on how you process everything

Everyone is saying the 1P ending is the bad ending, but think for a moment. The 2P ending is clearly the canon ending, because Morden is shown to be alive. So even though the 1P ending is more tragic, in the end it is the good ending because Morden is dead. The other games don't happen. Also, if you think about it more, the 2P ending doesn't remove the fact of all the soldiers you killed. More likely, it is showing the aftermath of the war. It might even be both endings are canon- the 1P ending shows the tragedy of war, and then the 2P ending shows the winning side celebrating after rebuilding society.
Metal Slug... Was my first arcade game, my first NeoGeo game, my beloved childhood game... Worst can't describe how much I love this game... I played this game again and again and again with friends and cousins, even my uncle. This game is a masterpiece.
It’s incredible how a 1996 2D game better conveys the destruction of war than games in 2023 with advanced tech engines worth millions of dollars. The incredible detail and personality in Metal Slug is some of the finest 2D art ever seen in any video game.
i think 2p ending not as happy ending. it just showes scenary before the actual battle. they are blowing up the bridge so the enemy troops can't march in. evacuing civilians, soldiers on stand by, having dinner. you see, there is no happy ending. the ending has already been determineded by the player.

I remeber this game when i was 5yrsold i played a lot on my computer it has the the soundtrack and classic arcade style i've always loved im so glad i found it. I might buy it on playstation and relive those awsome memories.
