Sins of a Solar Empire II is the highly anticipated sequel to the critically acclaimed space strategy game that seamlessly blends real-time strategy and 4X gameplay and raises the bar on what it means to become the ruler of a vast space empire.
Explore the tragic war between the desperate Vasari, emergent TEC, and the vengeful Advent as their struggle leaves them exposed to much greater threats. @@Ghuirm as of yet, whatever is said in the community is not part of the "released" thing. And while it stays that way it is a cashgrab. If its in community/development stage than it should not be open for purchase to public. Pay full price for a barebobes demo of the first game with somewhat improved graphics. For the moment there is nothing that says II about this game. As for yourself, please stay in that community and be quiet. The game should not be "out". Its a disgrace to the first games legacy as are you to its community.

I'm hoping for some kind of story campaign, maybe not at release, but a story focused expansion later down the line would be extremely tasty.

The UI aesthetic from the first game was some of the most unique designs i've ever seen, all those colorful icons makes it fun to look at, hope to see it continue in the sequel.
I just checked, I have over 1000 hours in the first game. God I'm so freaking excited!

this is one of those "i didnt know i needed this moments." the first game is the best strategy game of all tiem, ranging from proper space combat, an interesting culture systrem, and even functional ecomies. not to mention the mod compadibility. already placfed the preorder for this master piece

Put a special effort in the desing of the ships pls, i just remember that i love just to see how the ships fly and the battles were fantastic

Could you all make the planets, battle areas, and locations bigger than just a microscopic circle? XD Otherwise, glad you're getting back into Sins, again. Definitely one of the most addicting games of all time for many RTS fans. It's just kind of underwhelming for the technology of today.

Kind of a longshot, I know, but it is my hope to see support for existing mods (Armada 3, for example, which finished just last year).
I'd like to see a campaign this time, as the first game was skirmish and online only, but that game still kicks ass, so hey.

Guys you need to run some advertisement for this, sooooo many people love Sins of a Solar Empire and have no idea that a second game is coming.
+Side note: please rework the UI, while it has all the information and modifiers sorted it looks like something coming from 2010.
I absolutely love Sins of a Solar Empire. I hope they improve upon the first one, although I was fully content with the first one. The only thing that is lacking these days is the player base.

this would have been an instant "buy at any price!!" or "shut up and take my money!!!" ... but it's only on epic so... nevermind I guess. please for the love of all that is right and just in this world make the pre-order/wishlist/purchase available elsewhere to so that I can show you my love with a pre-order. anywhere else. a sequel to my favourite RTS (heck definitely in my top 5 most played games) is something I've wished for for years and it'd be a shame to not support you.

I have been a total fan of Sins of a Solar Empire since version 1, just one thought, pls dont remove the multi language sound files, Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion has great German audio files, also a TTS implementation for tooltips and other stuff would be awsome.

Would be awesome if someone did a mix of sins of solar empire with a space simulator.
An ai control the rts and people control the soldiers inside the ships (or bots do it, if there isnt enough players).
An problem with games that try to be too sandiboxy is that unlike real life humans don't spend 24 hours playing the game (or 14 hours if you count 10 hours sleeping), this lead to gameplay and immersion problems when trying to create a scifi world simulation.
With this 4x game you have enough abstractions (but still have some depth) to make the thing fun and work.

I never believed I would woke up in the mddle of the night, just to cry out of hype.
Ive played vs 3 ais, on max, it would seem armor does work, so does mitigation. Will there be some explanations or one better look into files ? Trade mechanic after some testing is great. Not sure how infra costs are calculated, but I guess you will be adding descriptions later, something that of course Id love to see now :P 1.0.16 so far. If pop mechanic comes back, together with allegiance, that would cut income based on distance from capital ? If pop is producing tax as in civic vs industry specialized planets, then allegiance drop works as sort of upkeep, while trade has its own. And ... 7800 exp was required from going lv1 to lv10. Currently, going from 9 to 10 takes 7800, meaning, currently it takes more exp to lv a cap ship to 10 than a titan in Soase:R. If possible I would love to make invisible the faces of factions, because the are looking generally hideous, red eyes, horns, camera-like eyes, chipheads and so on. It looks 'fugly'. Sure it was in the previous game as well. So I would like the option to hide faction 'faces'.
Ah, can't wait to pump out another titan that screams across the galaxy: I put the laughter in slaughter.

I would like it if for the maps there wasnt always so many planets per star its always been a little odd. Itd be nice if stardock reworked how the solar system layouts worked. Maybe made it more of a giant wide open space with more to scale sized stars and gas giants and like asteroid belts that wrapped around them with phasing being used mostly for interstellar travel. I suppose that would significantly alter how the game mechanics have to work but isnt that sort of the point? To move beyond and expand on the original concept rather than copy it exactly.
