Back when I watched this video (about an year ago), it was almost impossible for me to do aerial rave to buster JC. I kept at it for 3 frustrating day to do it consistently. And after 4-7 days I would say I got to a level when I was not consciously trying to do it and could incorporate it in my combos. And I will tell you this it feels very awkward and janky at first but it will get easy and it will make all the other jump cancel like Gunshot JC and Calibur JC a lot easy cause those are not nearly as tough as this is in the beginning. I still remember the sensation of frustration when I was learning this, it made me so mad dropping this again and again I though I would go bald from pulling my hairs. I finally pulled it off. It just depends on enemy types when it comes to the double down jump cancel. For larger enemies it's piss easy, but for smaller ones. It's a bit more tricky to time it
Pro tip: If you get Nero to do one of those little wing punches at the right time during a move that knocks enemies back or down, you can keep them still and continue the combo. It needs to be perfectly timed, though.
If anyone is having trouble JCing Payline like me, or you are having trouble getting the buster, it may be because you are jumping too soon. I thought I was cancelling it too late, but really I was trying to jump before Nero could connect to anything.

good sir. does jump cancel always work even if your not pressing forward(towards enemy)... will it not miss? i always push forward also the reason why my combos get mess up accidentally payline-ing the enemy..
I’ve been trying to do the double down cancel for a couple hours and my fingers just don’t want to move like that I’m am noob to DMC and am about to give up any tips?
I'm starting Nero right now, after using Vergil (1st to master), then Dante and V. I found out that Nero is very difficult to master, because of the exceed system is needed to perform various combos. Do you have any suggestions where the button should be reconfigured to easily perform exceed (Ex & Max)? I'm starting from standard button configuration here and on PS4.
Best bet is to leave Exceed at L2, it’s what I found to be best by default, Nero was the last person for me to master but the exceed mechanic eventually became easier through hours of BP and void lol
Bruh I've practiced every day a ton and I can't jump cancel more than maybe one or two times in a row. Its so fast theres no time to react before the enemy drops.
