    You don’t need half of these things. Don’t be afraid to become a mother because of money reasons. Motherhood is not about consumption, but love and patience
    All my items are used from born until 2 years at least:
    bath tub with small seat
    travel crib because they are cheaper
    stroller
    Car seat because is mandatory
    used clothes (buying is a mistake, you don’t know how big will be the baby, wait for gifts and check second hand stores)
    cloth diapers (also cheaper in the long run).
    The new born baby is happier close to mummy or daddy than in the rocking chair
    There is no need for monitors… we have ears that are prepared to listen better after the birth
    I also have the lovevery play gym but my baby only was interested between the third and sixth month. Now he prefers to explore ❤

      Omg I got most of our stuff from my sister in law who claims she's done having any more babies. So we got hand me down stroller, swaddle, bath, clothes, toys like everything. Was amazing! Only thing we got new was the carseat because we just want to be on the safe side with that.

    Good list. My babe had colic and we found out it was due to a milk protein allergy. Once we got switched to a better formula, (congenital heart defect, and my medication is toxic for babies, so unable to breast feed) he showed significant improvement. Had two episodes afterwards and then never had another. But Mylicon was our blessing for him.

    I wanted to say, i had both the my breast friend and the boppy and i didnt like the my breast friend because im taller and felt like i had to lean down to feed my baby in a way that just made my back hurt a ton but the boppy was awesome because its thicker and lifts the baby up a bit more. In the very begining id actually sometimes use both because i had a very tiny preemie and together it lifted her up quite a bit higher. Im also larger chested but im not sure if that makes a difference or not as far as which pillow i just threw it out there incase it had anything to do with one working over another. But the my best friend is great for some people im not discounting it, my petite sister actually preferred that which is why i think height might make a difference in pillow preference. Just hope this might help someone trying to chose.

    You're right! Definitely need vitamin D drops only if you're breastfeeding. Formula fed babies don't need the drops because all the vitamins they need are already in the formula. 🙂 They say that you need the Vit D drops when breastfeeding because most everyone has low vitamin D levels so naturally baby wouldn't be getting enough from you without the drops!

      Expecting our first next year, so not sure if this is a silly question, but do you still need Vitamin D (if breastfeeding) if you’re already taking prenatals and continue after baby is born?

    • @ChristineCartwright
      @ChristineCartwright  Год назад +1

      @@sashacooper3852 Hi! Congratulations!!! Nothing is silly, we're not taught this stuff! The vitamin d is for the baby and usually it's a little dropper that you give them every day. Breast milk contains everything they need except vit d is what I was told! But as always, definitely ask your doctor!

      @@ChristineCartwright Thank you so much! And thanks for your quick reply! I’ll add this to my never-ending list of questions for my midwife lol! Also, my husband was in charge of picking the baby monitor and I was so excited to tell him you recommended the exact one he selected! We have a Nest system already and did not want another device that required our phone to check on the baby! Plus your exact point, if we want to be doing something else on the phone I don’t want to not be able to see baby at the same time! This is an awesome video, I took so many recommendations from here so I can delete other items from the registry! ❤️ I do not want a house full of unnecessary clutter! 😂

    Did you actually use the breastFriend pillow religiously? Seems like a hassle. I got one with a removable cover for washing and they are a pain to put back on. Baby 4 on the way and I am at the point of my life where I walk/stand/recline and feed 😂 really wanted to try the pillow but it was blah. I have three snuggle me organics and a Moses basket for naps and put downs near by. Tuck them away around the home and the pod is there when you need to put the baby down. I kept one in my laundry room, kitchen/family room, and my children’s room. Think about what area you use your two hands in and keep the “snuggle me” pods there.
    This week, I am packing NB size diapers (hospital provides size 1), white body suits, take home outfit (that is, PJ’s), a couple muslin wraps since the hospital provides flannel blankets. We do baths at home instead of the hospital. I plan to use the same stuff in my list for the first three months but with a few more PJ’s. Babies sleep so much they basically live in PJs and body suits/wraps.
    Highly recommend zip up PJs because who wants to spend a million seconds clipping up pjs while hoping the baby won’t get frustrated with diaper changes. Just snuggle and sleep…it’s your and your baby’s “fourth” trimester.

    As a new mother I personally think most of this is very expensive and unecesary. I might have heard wrong, but I hope you were not telling parents to give their babies D vitamin without consulting a doctor.

      Because "colic" doesn't exist. Colic is just a blanket term for undiagnosed issues, primarily gastric health issues and spinal injuries from birth- both which chiropractic care can address

    About to have my 6th and I haven’t used any of these products except the diapers and wipes! Of course, there are similar products that worked for us like a bassinet, etc. my best advice is to just have the baby and the bare minimum essentials. Once you get to know your baby you can try different products you might find helpful. We live in a world where we can usually get something pretty quickly if we decide we need it or would like to try it. I registered for a lot of unnecessary products with my first and second and found each child to need and use different things (one loved the swing while another hated it, 2 took pacifiers and the others refused them, different babies preferred different baby carriers, etc). This video is most helpful for bringing awareness about quality products that worked well! And for that I am very grateful.

      I m super afraid of this. When our baby is born we will be moving down to a one income house and we live in a one large room basement. I am putting so many things on the registry because we cannot afford to experiment when the baby is born. We will be pulling from savings to pay for food after all of our bills are paid so if we don't get it from our registry then we just wont have it at all.
      I see so many people saying to wait for your baby to decide what they like then buy that but what do you do when you can't do that?

      @@alysenicoley you can always get gift cards from people so when baby is here you still have some wiggle room to buy some items. If not, I’m sure you will make due and get creative. You have to think, we didn’t have all these things back in the days and here we are.

    Love your video!! I noticed that you recommended the Comotomo, it's a great option but also known for causing colic and gas in babies that drink fast. So maybe you could try a bottle with a valve that doesn't allow air in, such as Dr.Brown. My sister had the same issue and her nursing consultant recommended the switch, her baby never had issues with gas and colic again.

    Best diapers I've found are the Up & Up from Target. They are SUPER absorbent and don't leave a rash or rub welt between the thighs. Plus they hold up so well for blow outs. Especially if you fold the back flap under.

    I love the homedics sound spa machine. I got one with my first baby 7 years ago and since we have gone through 3 of these. My only complaint is that the dial breaks after about 2 years no matter how gentle we are with it. I just ordered our 4th as I am pregnant with baby #3 and I can't sleep without it 😂😂😂😂

    You know would really have to include decorating a fancy nursery if you are on a budget. Babies don't care! Only 1 out of my 5 actually slept in a crib at night. You can decorate a room later when they are old enough to appreciate it. Would spend the money on things like a really good non nursery looking comfy rocker

    Don't do water wipes, Pampers pure aqua are way better ingredients wise. Sadly water wipes uses a less favorable preservative. We used them for some time with our first kid then we switched. We will be doing only parapets pure aqua for our second baby on the way.

    • @ChristineCartwright
      @ChristineCartwright  2 года назад +2

      I wouldn't say its a must. You could always do a changing table that you can find for under $100, much cheaper than the changing dressers. Or depending on your home you can just get a changing pad and move it around the house! Totally up to you! XOXO
