B/c last year I was up until 3 am after the race, editing the race vlog, & this year I planned ahead and edited this review before the race so that True Love and I could enjoy the post-race together. First off, congrats man! It’s so inspiring to see you balance serious high volume running with your family and work responsibilities. Your channel shows the sides to running we don’t always talk about… waking up early, eating right, recovery work, gym work, flexibility to life events. To see it affirmed by another Pikes Peak victory was honestly incredible, I think all your viewers feel like we won as well! Second, QD: I was so excited after watching your fuel cell rebel v2 review that I went to the local running store, bought them, then did a threshold the same day to test them out. I was so eager to see how light and flexible the shoe felt, and I wasn’t disappointed!
QD: I always run with a little bike bell around my finger (looks like a bulky ring but is made for kids bicycles)... People know when I am approaching and usually they find it quite funny when they realize there is no bike behind them 😅 it was a small purchase but kind of makes me smile each time I use it because of the way people react, which is 99% positive! Congrats on your first place, very well deserved!

Congratulations on the top podium finish, Michael! I'm glad Seth was able to join you -- we've heard good things about that guy. Anyway, I think we have all been spoiled by Seth's breathtaking filming up in the mountains that yesterday's official livestream felt too primitive, with their stationary video feeds at the start/finish line and at the summit. Why can't one of the drone companies sponsor a better coverage in these races? That would enable people from around the world to cheer throughout the whole race. All that said, I got goosebumps when I heard people started to cheer at the summit around 2:06:30, and then a big smile broke upon my face when I saw Seth's familiar stature nimbly bounce up to the summit, looking strong and energized! At that point, I thought, you got this🥇
Congrats Seth on the win, I watched the stream and saw you reaching the top of Pikes Peak. Crazy ascent it was, I was following the race on multiple forums to get some news about the race. Got scared when the first time the Pikes peak website got updated and your name was not there on the leaderboard but later was relieved to see ATRA's twitter post confirming that you were in the lead. Onwards and Upwards!
Congrats on the win Seth, great effort! Watched the livestream and it looked like you got up there quicker than the ascent winner :) I bought Pulsars yesterday as they are half price in Australia at the moment. I don't need more trail shoes right now but I need these half price trail shoes!

You’ll be happy to know that Salomon has indeed planned a SoftGround (SG) version of the Pulsar in 2022. Some Salomon-sponsored runners might already be wearing it next week at UTMB races (not necessarily the 170km, but for races like CCC and shorter). New outsole might make it the ultimate shoe even in technical terrains 👟

I used to work at a running store, so I have tried on a LOT of shoes but nothing got me as excited as when I picked up the Hyperion Elite 2s. Such a smooth bouncy fun ride I knew immediately that this was the shoe for my half marathon race this fall.

I consider 3 things when buying shoes - fit, conditions, purpose/intended use. I have just bought some X Talon G235 for plenty of grip (it's flat and wet where I live so practically have to wade through my winter trails). Considered some Arc'teryx Norvan SL 2 (v similar to the Salomon Pulsar) but decided against them as similar poor outsole! Hope you and your family enjoy the custard 😋
QD: Just bought the Adidas Adizero Adios Pro 2.0 and took them for a track session the other day. I have never worn a super shoe prior to this, and all I can say is wow. The difference is remarkable, running paces I usually find challenging barely even feeling anything. Have a road 5k on Thursday and excited to see what they feel like in a real race. Congrats on the Pikes Peak victory!💪🏼
QD: It was my salomon speedcross 5 red really got me excited, which I bought it last week. I was amazed by your shoe review way back 2019, and had to buy it. I always think about it and even watch your review about it a thousand times.

QD: Bought a pair of Mizuno Wave Emperor back in 2017, a racing shoe that I always dreamt of having since 2014. Couldn’t wait for it to arrive. I remembered checking my e-mail and package tracker every single day, dreaming running with that pair in every single race I could get into.
QoD: It arrived a couple of weeks ago. My first hydration vest. I picked up the CamelBak Ultra Pro and so for it is everything I thought it woud be. Up until now, I always took a "handhled" hard shell water bottle on my trail runs. It worked but it was annoying. I am loving the vest. It allows me to carry plenty of water, gels, and an extra layer if needed. It also gives me a convenient place to hang a bear bell and carry some bear spray just in case. Without water it is super lightweight. Great running purchase. I am loving it.

QD: Today! I ordered the New Balance RC Elite v2 last night from Running Warehouse and I cannot WAIT for them to arrive! They are going to be my racing shoe for the Cape Cod Marathon on Halloween.
Important points is missed in this review. This shoe does not come with an insole and it is a very narrow shoe. The narrow platform combined with the stack height of the, quite soft, midsole make’s it a bit unstable. Those were my experiences with these shoes.

QD: I think after using the Hoka Speedgoat 1, two pairs of 2s, 1 pair of 3s and the GTX version of the 4s, especially in winter, it was the Evo Speedgoat. Incredible light weight, perfect fit and great race day performance. For 100K+ I would recommend the Evo Mafate 2 though. I also was exited and surprised by the Altra Olympus 4.0. QD: I just purchased a pair of Nike Invincibles. I tried a pair on in our local running shoe store a couple of months ago, but couldn't bring myself to talk to my wife about them, at $250 aud. And then they sold out of my size. I watched every review on RUclips but couldn't remember which size I was, I can run anywhere between a 10.5 & 11.5, depending on how wide the shoe is in the toe box. The store got more stock and I did my first long run in them on Saturday. I love the ZoomX foam, they took a bit of getting used to, but my legs felt much better than usual afterwards. Definitely worth waiting for.
QoD: The Hoka Rocket X, my first pair of carbon plate shoes! They got me so excited that at the first race I have done wearing them I managed to run my 2nd fastest 10k ever, only a few seconds off my 8-year-old PB. They gave me the hope (and motivation) I can still improve my PB on 10k even if I am 8 years older. Onwards and upwards 💪
QD: The Asics Glideride and the NB Rebel V2 really got me excited. The Glideride because it has such a special ride. Due to the pronounced rocker it feels unlike any other shoe that I have and therefore it's a great addition to my shoe rotation.
QD definitely has to be the Mach 4 I just got that package after hearing about it for several months all the rave all the hype and I can gladly say it lived up to it. I was so excited to run in that shoe again after I took it out for the first run just moments after I opened it👍

QD: Vaporfly Next%. I ran my first marathon in these as well as some tempo runs in the months leading into the race, and they are by far the best shoes I have worn. Planning to retire them after my September half marathon (200+ miles on them).
