@jaredbaratta8589I agree. She played a very adult Tina. Krista was so bad they even just started writing Tina as a bimbo. They had her working at the Banner and putting everyone's desk in alphabetical order. 😂 Even when Andrea played her, she was flawed but not really a bimbo. Just victim and manipulator at the same time.
@jaredbaratta8589 It makes me nauseas to defend Linda Gottlieb (she ultimately did more harm than good to OLTL), but she actually isn't to blame for Krista Tesreau's casting. LG was gone by then and Susan Bedsow Horgan promoted to EP. Susan had worked on Guiding Light and knew KT during her time as Mindy Lewis. In SBH's mind, Mindy was similar to Tina (newsflash: she isn't) and KT would be perfect. She offered the role to KT without so much as an audition. And sorry, I've got to disagree with those alternative recast suggestions! Even if Haskell and DePaiva weren't already playing Marty & Blair by then, SH is just so different and KDP too animated (and TOO TALL, lol)! Nancy Frangione was a temp and frankly too old for Tina - she was more contemporary of Erika Slezak. I saw Maroney & Clark's brief takes on Tina, and let's just say we were very lucky that Andrea returned in 1985! Other than Andrea herself, I'm not sure anyone could have pulled Tina off as well as Karen did.
@jaredbaratta8589 and Renee's close friendship with Tina was totally gone with Tesreau! When Karen and Andrea had scenes with Patricia Elliot, there was always a visible connection between them. But the scant few scenes Krista shares with her, it's as if Renee only tolerates Tina's presence.
