So Di0 lets me know something he needs and i whip it up in blender get it into the correct file format for skyrim and send it over. As far as progress with the world and quest etc only Di0 really knows. I can't wait for Skywind/Blivion. Skyrim was my first elder scrolls, and I absolutely fell in love with the game and it's lore. I also own GOTY editions for Morrowind and Oblivion, and I've tried playing them but I've gotten way to comfortable and pampered with Skyrims more modern mechanics. Hopefully it'll be as faithful as possible because I really want to experience these games. Without nostalgia, it's extremely hard to enjoy the old ones.

    • @nomore1088
      @nomore1088 5 лет назад +24

      I feel the same. Began with skyrim and altho I played Oblivion later and people have recomended Morrowind to me I never really felt comfortable with them. I mostly played Oblivion and its dlc's for the story and lore that I was mesmoriesd with. But even with the great story of questlines like the dark brotherhood and Shivering isles (both my favorits from the game) I still had to ignore how chunky the mechanics felt. This will be my chance to play the games and enjoy the storys so many know and love, but in a smother way I feel more comfortable with.

      Exactly where I stand. Compared to Skyrim, even Oblivion is clunky at best. If I'd started there, it'd be fine, I would've grown accustomed, but I could never get the controls down comfortably. Having the experience, remastered, with newer controls is pretty much perfection.

    Honestly, If Skyrim didn't have such an active modding community pushing these amazing Mods and new story DLC mods, how ever big or small they may be skyrim would be long gone. On its own its a great game, sure. But Skyrim would realistically be "One of those amazing games of its time" I'm part of a modding community on discord that primarily does Skyrim however, I see loads of people still pushing Oblivion to its limits. It's really amazing to see the quality that is being pushed out with no expectation for any kind of kickback other then you enjoying their work, I find these projects much more respectable than the next big thing from EA, Ubisoft or Bethesda.

    Beyond Skyrim isnt an overhaul, it's a mod that adds content, not replaces it.

    • @EstebanBrenesV
      @EstebanBrenesV 5 лет назад +1

      @Desk although the term is used that way it is wrong, overhaul is a re-adaptation of mechanics that replace the previous systems in the same frame of content therefore overhaul doesnt apply to what this is, there seems that the internet has alot of confusion (AND I MEAN A LOT) about remaster, overhaul, remake, reboot and even rework, they are all diferent in videogames and although they do share some similarities they all do completely different things in their objectives, for example Beyond skyrim doesnt fall in any of those categories, as in order of the previous concepts, it doesnt do a graphical and mechanical enhancement of the previous game, it does not replace any mechanics or systems, does not redo over the game with technological additions, does not reset the lore in a new game/engine or any of its mechanics, and does not polish nor revises the content to enhance its capabilities, beyond skyrim therefore is an addition to the game that expands its content adding features, which is more likely to be called and expansion mod, just my 2 cents here, the definitions come from development experience and videogame design patterns theory

      Mete Tural lets be real here, Morrowind’s mechanics can be kinda clunky. Like having 4 attacks for every weapon that may do different damage (spears are way better with stabbing), all controlled by what direction your character is moving in (better move forward when attacking with spears). No quest markers and needing to rely on directions given by NPCs likely will turn most who are accustomed to modern waypoints away (though I absolutely love this). Failing a spell cast due to RNG and still spending the mana feels even worse than missing a melee attack cause of the dice roll.
      The game is clunky.
      That said I’d still say for anybody interested to give the game a try but keep a few things in mind:
      1. turning on the “always use best attack” setting is recommended
      2. your in-game journal keeps track of relevant information from conversations you’ve had, so click on every topic relating to your quest with everybody, then consult your journal.
      3. If you can persevere through the early game, the RNG becomes negligible for your main skills (unless your opponent has high agility and/or luck, in which case melee attacks are more likely to miss; though spells never miss due to RNG as long as you can succeed casting them).
      Oh, and enchanting is super OP since an enchanted item never fails to cast, has instant cast time with no cooldown, recharges over time (even in battle unlike magicka), and allows you to use all spells from all schools of magic without training their skills. The only RNG you have to worry about is when enchanting items, which is easily save-scummable (same goes for alchemy, which is even more OP than enchanting).

      New races would be nice. Even if it takes place in Tamriel, they could still find some way to introduce Akaviri characters who have traveled from their homeland to Tamriel. Playable races (in addition to the 10 past races) could include:
      -Akaviri humans (resembling Asian people)
      -Tsaesci (reptilian people with humanoid torsos and arms, but heads and lower bodies like snakes)
      -Tang Mo (monkey people)
      -Ka'Po'Tun (tiger people)
      -Sea Elves/Maormer (they have shown up as enemies in ES Online, but have never been playable)
      -Left-handed elves (good idea if ES 6 is in Hammerfell, maybe some survived their race's near extinction by the Yokudans)
      -Various furstocks of Khajiit (not just suthay as in ES 3, or just cathay as in ES 4 & 5; maybe dagi and pahmar?)
      -Any other races?

    Here's the problem: patches
    These mods are only for people who add at most, 30 mods to their load order and don't even make bashed patches or don't even use character retexture and animation overhauls at all. That being said, anybody with a 300+ load order is gonna need that many patches to get it to work with any of these, not to mention all of them. Just look at the warehouse list of patches for Bruma or Legacy of the Dragonborn; it's insane.

    Bethesda isn't interested in a remaster, but Special Edition is sorta something like that...

The code was just extended upon and renamed, obviously they have upgraded the engine a ton but they still use some gamebryo code (25 year old code they used for older games like the elder scrolls morrowind, this was datamined by multiple people. The original engine was actually called gamebryo.)
