And you didn’t even tell them about your other Etsy business, launched in 2020, that is doing really well too! Sustained growth! Love it! So proud of you!
Your hubby posted this in a laser business group and I was in tears! Such a God moment. I have been needing this info for a while now. I feel like I am headed in the right direction listening to what you went through in the beginning. I know I can do this and want to learn more. If you wouldn't mind sharing your tips on shipping and what you include in your shipments (discount cards, reminders to rate products etc.) and what site you used to create your paper marketing materials. I would also love to know your email lists strategies. I love your products! Keep these videos coming! Im looking forward to Tuesdays now! :)
Hey Elisha! Thanks so much for your kind words! It makes my heart so happy that this video helped you and gave some encouragement! Definitely a God moment. I'm planning on doing a whole video on all things shipping related so that'll be coming up soon! We mainly use vistaprint.com and uprinting.com for our printed marketing materials... they usually have some good discounts available! As far as growing your email list, I would suggest creating a freemium (op-in) to offer to encourage people to sign up for your list. @Thinkmedia on youtube has some really great videos on this!! Thanks again so much for subscribing and I look forward to hearing of your success! (you can totally do it!!) :)
Thank you for starting this channel, Kate. You remind me of my youngest daughter and she can benefit from your expertise. I have enjoyed following you on FB and getting to know how genuine and a woman if integrity!
Your husband shared this link in an engravers group I’m in. After watching your video I’ve shared it to my personal page, business page, and a small business group page I’m in that spotlights businesses in NE GA. I found the information you shared to be quite helpful and would love it if you could explain the cost of having an Etsy store. Maybe elaborate on shipping cost and tips on how to find the best rates. Also explain how payments are taken etc. I look forward to getting a notification that you’ve made a new video. Thanks for the insights! Btw...I so love that you talk and don’t “ummm” and “tsk” Great voice for this.
Wow, thank you so much for sharing!! Those are some great ideas for topics. We definitely plan to cover the cost of running an Etsy shop in more depth including details on shipping and rates, probably in the next few videos. Thanks so much for your feedback!
Thank you Kate for sharing your experiences and knowledge about Esty as I'm thinking about opening my own soon♥️ I've found your channel recently. You and Nick are such an inspiration🦋 Bless you and your beautiful family 🙏🏽
I am so thankful for you and your videos - your success is such an inspiration. I am going through my listing titles as I watch and changing them according to your advice re using the keyword search tab to see what current listings are doing well. thank you!
Thank you so much Kate! I also think that it's all about what the people want... I sell my handmade beaded bracelets and I have not seen a page with over 1000 sales unless they're in China selling them dirt cheap and have tons of listings. I am always doing research and trying to learn how to grow.
That’s very true! Some types of products may just not be trending or super popular OR like you said, there may be too much competition with crazy low prices.
@@KateHayes I mean, I've watched so many Etsy sellers on their channels tell about how to succeed and none of them have been as clear and helpful as yours... Most try to get you to pay for a ton of services, I really appreciated that you gave practical advice. So, thank you!
Hi Kate, great video, thanks for the info! I have a question for you...I am just getting started with my Etsy business, and I make a few different things. Do you recommend a different Etsy shop for each one, or is it best to do it all in one place? Thanks!
Hi Laura! I’d say it depends on what items you’re selling. If they are related enough, you could sell them all in one shop. If they’re totally different with no correlation, maybe consider two shops. I’d just focus on building one at a time though :)
I always find that the suggested way to carry you through the first few months and first bunch of sales is from family and friends. I have 0 support or interest from my family and friends, they are unwilling to take part, look at, buy and even share my art/products. What would you suggest in this situation in the way of growth? Thank you"
Hi there, That’s a tough one. You could try to join community groups and see if you can gain support from those wanting to support small business. Though it’s not good to be dependent on all the time, Etsy Ad’s might be worth a try.
Definitely try Etsy add first! My Etsy store was not supported by any family or friends purchasing. So I decided to do Etsy ads to get an understanding how people are discovering my products through the stats after one month.
This is great for people who do made to order items... all mine are unique. I've been looking for tips for my shop that only gets one sale per listing, and then that listing is just no longer relevant. It's impossible for my to do made yo order items with my jewelry bc each item is impossible to replicate closely.
There are so many! The best way to find wholesalers is to go on the website for a trade show in your area and search through the list of exhibitors. This takes a bit of effort but you’ll likely discover several great vendors and their individual websites!
Thank you for your encouragement. We just did a video a few weeks ago specifically on Etsy Seo. Browse our channel, in the Etsy playlist, to check it out. Hope we can help you get on track. 👍
hi, your video is useful. I am new to Etsy and selling digital products. I want to know how long do you need to wait until the sales bumps up? I have some sales but people usually didn't leave me reviews. I don't know why.How do you get reviews? thank you.
Hi there! So exciting that you’re just starting! It’s different for everyone but the sales will definitely start increasing as you work to make your shop and listings better and better. Never stop tweaking and improving! To encourage your buyers to leave reviews, you can always set up a little message to be sent out in your automatic confirmation email. You can include a message thanking them for the purchase and even offer a small discount code for their next. Encourage them to leave you feedback :) If you ever sell physical products you can always include a reminder on the packing slip and/or any marketing materials you might send in the package!
Thank you so much for that video! It is really informative. I have opened my shop recently and got my 1 sale after 2 days of Etsy ads. Do you think absence of Etsy payments during checkout process can affect my conversion score? Etsy payments are not eligible in my country, so I only use PayPal. And is that okay if I add physical products to my store in addition to my online service(tarot readings). Physical products are related to tarot cards theme. Or I should open another shop for selling tarot physical products? Is that okay if I also add unrelated products to my store? (Like jewelry, custom t shirt, mugs) I would be so glad if you could help me with this stuff. You are such a motivator for me to keep on selling on Etsy :)
Thank you for all this information! Based on what you've said in this video, it seems there is a lot banking on a listing getting multiple sales. So what if most of your listings are one ofs?
For sure. That’s why I recommend creating listings for products that can be ordered over and over again. That way the listing can gain momentum and grow over time to become established and start ranking higher :)

Yes it’s definitely different for unique items that you can’t sell again. My strategy is mainly focused on scaling by offering renewable listings ❤️

Might be overthinking here but for the Facebook group do you recommend making it public or private?
I’d say make it private so people have to request to join. This makes members feel like they are part of something more exclusive and special.

I'm surprised you don't talk about actually making the products... it's great to be able to sell well, but when you reach 70K a month, how do you manage to produce that much?
Every shop is different but scaling at a certain point to hire help is the next step for most when production demands become too much for one person.
