They are awesome!
Have that watch for ten years and like it. As a GA pilot, the accuracy in alti-baro mode make it a good back-up. For the first seven years, it was my "flight" watch, and it is my everyday watch for the last three years. The Suunto is three times lightweight compare to my Citizen eco-drive, and a lot more confortable by the way the wristband is fixed to the case.(and the orange wristband I use make it look WOW)For the battery life, as I don't use the compass mode, I got about fifteen months with a good quality cell(Duracell, for me). The Suunto Core is almost perfect... except that it can be hard to read in low light. But I got use to it
For low light you have light button , in my opinion it’s the perfect watch , I’ve change many g-shock’s I’ve benn looking for all these functions in one watch

I love it , i recommend most than a pro trek . It’s more comfy , for subtle , more lightweight, all these functions in one watch .. battery to charge for me it’s not a problem .
I have seen g-shocks solars dead , with that watch everyone can change the battery even you are in field . With a g-shock idk what you can do …
The first minute made me realize I don't want a watch that has a PlayStation menu in it.
Very tactile look and feel. However 30m (3 ATM) of the Water Resistance is pretty low for outdoor watch. Even Pilot/flieger watches has usually more like 50/100m - and they don't have to be resistant that much.
from what I understand suunto gave a true water resistance rating to this watch not the typical ohh its 200m water resitance but then dies taking a shower or swimming in a pool.
Used this watch in the pool several times. No problemo so far.

Sure can!
This watch would be so MUCH better if Sunnto would improve the screen glare and fix the freaking contrast settings so people could actually read the watch easier. Makes me just want to walk away from Sunnto and find something better. Which I will do now. Really disappointed in the "newer" version of the Sunnto Core. Won't be buying it.
Really that bad? VERY disappointing if so. Been looking at this watch for a while now - may've left it too late to pull the trigger.

Killed two of these within a few months of having them. One pool swim caused the main button to stick closed and killed the watch user interface and the other took on salt water and killed it before I even did a battery change. Junk watches in my experience
1 year battery you call amazing? My casio runs on it's first battery for 14 years now.
