I have the same watch I bought new in 1982 from J. C. Penny. My bezel rotates but it needs service as the Chrono dials will not reset to zero when the bottom right button is held to activate the all clear/reset feature. Enjoyed your video and thanks!
@@thefunkwatchcollective yes sorry, I should have mentioned that. Fun story, when I took my watch in for its first battery change my jeweler took one look at it and it told me he didn’t want to work on it. When I asked why he disappeared into the back of the store and came back with a watch just like mine and informed me that the day before he had replaced the battery and spent over 2 hours removing and re zeroing the hands because every time he replaced the battery the hands would reset and not land where he left them!!! I promptly said give me the watch, popped the crown and reset the hands for him. Needless to say he was happy and not happy all at the same time. He never liked Seiko anyway, he was a Bulova guy and referred to Seiko as “sicko Seiko” lol!
I acquired one a year ago. No bracelet. A couple things, including a seized bezel like yours. Sent it into Seiko service, for $176, they fixed my issues including the bezel. I had a good experience with them.
I’m interested in your story too. I have a 1982 speedy and want to get it serviced in February. If you can send me some details, that’d be awesome! Thanks.
I love these I'm actually eyeing a black pvd coated version. The no date first execution dials are my favorite. Not really a fan of the later versions with the date and day jammed in the sub dial
I have that same watch. I purchased in 1982 from a jewelry store in Thousand Oaks California. I still have it and plan to get it running again. It needs servicing though and a new band. If YOU know where I can get an original bracelet it, please let me know. Thanks for the video!
I have a similar watch (no bezel like your)... the Seiko Sport Titanium Chrono 7a28 .. fantastic watch .. and quartz movement that can be regulated !!i

Did you look up how to reset the hands? Pop the crown out to the second position and press the upper chrono button.

How long did the service take?
$176 USD?
Thank you for sharing, people need to hear about positive experiences more often!

I had no idea they had pvd versions!
Nice edits. Beautiful photos. Did you take those yourself?
I did! All original pics.

You're very welcome!
My first place to look would be ebay. Good luck with your hunt!
The bezel is handy to count hours on the chronograph.

I'm always on the fence about selling it. As much as I love it, it never gets enough wrist time. Lol
que costara un reloj de esos
$250-800
