How do you figure that because someone can sing sitting down that somehow is a testament to how good their vocals are? Artists do that all the time. People like Billy Joel, Elton John, Ray Charles, Chris Martyn, Paul McCartney, etc. but their careers doing it. So I don’t understand the logic behind why it should be impressive the Bono can sing while sitting down.

When I heard about this new album I wasn't expecting anything as good as the old albums since I really didn't care for The Miracle of Joey Ramone, but... Fuck! This album finally made it!, it brought back to my memory the good old days when I was 11 and found U2. :'(
He could never really sing in the traditional sense. He just had a cool sounding voice. Kinda like Jim Morrison from The Doors. After smoking for 3 decades, touring too much, and improper vocal techniques all through the 80's, Bono's voice isn't sounding so cool anymore. I think that's what people mean when they say that he can't sing.
I think his voice has improved since the Elevation era. His every breaking wave live is lovely. His breath support is good and technique seems to have improved. No smoking perhaps? I dunno. Bono is a performer and artist. He uses his lyrics, entire voice, range of emotion and body to send his message.

He says that he's seen U2 live and Bono always sings on pitch note for note. He doesn’t need autotune. Besides in the 80s and 90s he was screaming and shouting to get the notes. I like that he doesn't belt anymore. He projects which is better singing technique. His voice sounds 100 times better now because he sings and doesn't belt.

What do you mean you hope they do a “full band version”? They recorded it fully electric with bass and full drum kit. In the concerts it’s all “plugged”. This is the only version you’ve heard?? You haven’t heard the album track or seen concert video? Your wish for a full band version is literally a one inch scroll up or down on you tube
