This song has a political hint , the lyrics can be fully understood only by Moldovan and Romanian citizens, even if the lyrics would be translated to English , one wouldn't understand the meaning of the song , if you don't know the history of Moldova and Romania. The meaning is that there are these two countries Romania and Moldova that in the past was one country , united and divided for several times throughout the history. The train shows that the passenger takes off from Chisinau (Moldova's capital city ) and travels to Bucuresti (Romania's capital city), they say that it looks like you go abroad, because we have different passports and have to pass the customs at the border , but at the same time they say it is like going from home to the same home, because we have the same language, the same traditions and the same history, the same kings in the past. They never pronounce in the song the names of the countries but this song is a programming for the reunification of these two countries. The traveler says that we are brothers but see each other one time in a hundred years , this phrase also has a political hint because once in a hundred years Moldova and Romania unite again in a single country , or divide again into two countries. That carpet has on it the portrait of the Great Stephan , a king of to both Moldova and Romania in 15 hundreds. And was a hero, and declared saint because he protected the orthodoxy , during his rule years he was in 50 battles against the Otoman Empire from which he won 47 of them. So it is a National hero for both Moldova and Romania. This song definitely sounds strange for foreigners but is plays with the feelings of both moldovans and romanians. It has a greater emotional charge than it seems at first sight.

It's about two countries that are separated by others, and if you ride the train from one to another you find out there's the same country, the same people, the same culture and language and the same music. Everything is the same.
The official language of the Republic of Moldova is Romanian, because Moldova was once part of Romania. It's just that Moldovans have a different accent than Romanians, a Russian accent. The Russian accent is due to Russian rule, the Russians once separated Moldova from Romania and Russified, but now Moldova is an independent country that wants to reunite with Romania. The song is in Romanian and talks about the union of the two countries.
