That's an interesting idea, would explain why the humans from the human village are terrified of Youkais even though the Youkais aren't allowed to actually eat anyone. No one would be terrified of characters like Rumia who are just a little girl. An actual monstrous looking Youkai however, with the ability to control darkness would be terrifying
