True.. The Minister of Local Government indicated that the Law Enforcement Agencies (Police,RTSA) will be patroling the CBD for 1 month to ensure the current situation sticks.
Hope this continues. The streets were very crowded and dirty. It was very embarrassing when visitors come to our country and see such disorganization. Markets were literally empty.
Thank you so much Zambia for this move. I was arguing with my fellow countrymen here in neighbouring Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 if this is an excellent move politically. Their argument was that yes of course Lusaka is exceptionally clean but won't this lead to loss of votes for HH inn the next election. They argued that the vendors should be left alone for the current president to garner more votes. Of course my views are different fr om theirs. How come we normalise the abnormal? What's your honest view on this? Please assist your fellow brother in Zim
All those people hanging around are vendors . I can still see some Salaula. It’s good see Ben Bela cleared carom those blanket sellers . Anyone who campaigns for street vending will never even get a counselor!
Good to see what has happened. Those daring the law to try & do vending should be warned through radio, TV & print media that when caught, will be fined or lose their merchandise which will be sold in markets if they fail to pay the fine. Lawlessness should not be encouraged
Yes This is extremely nice and this is how a City should look like clean and no liter seen anywhere near us. The City Streets should look clean. Street Vendors should be taken to Markets that's where they belong. Yes we need sanity in our Towns. This should be done in all Urban and Rural Towns in Zambia.. No Town should be left behind. Actually you are mopping our Towns and leaving them clean and never to be seen again. We need strong bylaws that will deal with those found wanting. We need to live in clean and liter free environment. Congratulations Hon Minister of Local Government and Rural Development. This is the development we actually want doing the right thing for the people. Don't listen to those not appreciating you, they will see the benefits of this clean up. God bless Zambia.
Thank you for this massive cleaning. Pliz plz maintain this move let selling be done where it is suppose to be. Don't ever allow any vendor at all cost
I was wondering why some Zambians liked a dirty looking city with those vendors who did not care about cleanliness of the city, please being clean can not harm you, take this into consideration, next they have to see that those filthy structures has to be dealt with, better we have two or three structures which make sense unlike to have a thousand of filthy structures any way.
Simon Mwewa market looks good. I am sure the sellers levy won't be much. We will go into the markets and buy from them. We used to manage in the past and we'll still do it. Let sanity return. People in rural areas all moved to Lusaka ATI ndiye kuli ndalama. Ndalama in filthy streets😮😮😮. CLEANLINESS is next to Godliness
Very good, that's exactly what should happen to SA. Then we can handle any insults thrown to us, as long as our SA will go back to its original clean and organized country like before the influx.
Many people on the streets of Lusaka, but they don't mess up this city as they all Africans go do in SA , to become vendors and not respecting the country and mess the country up with lot's vendoring types including shady business like drugs dealing, and poses threats if reprimanded of such things. It's good that here in Zambia they don't have the whole continent to look after and apply law to lawless unknown nationals individuals. It's hard work and really drainage to government especially the citizens .
Yep I don't see motorbikes as transportation, what a relief. Ooh I hate those bikes that are the form of transporting people, it's scary and uncomfortable.
Keep up the great works
Something to be proud of
If this exercise is taken so serious and all the trades are relocated to the trading places (markets) am pretty sure our town can be too clean..!

True, the filter lanes and alleys too are finally passable now.

Hopefully, this not a political move but a permanent one. We have to change our mindset as Zambians on how and where we conduct our businesses.
Should put more shelters for resting and creaye space for conviniences
Yeah, we definitely need more conveniences.🥲. I hear the CBD has only about 4 public restrooms.
Anyone seen buying from Vendors on the road should be fined

They need to plant trees
