I think it was a great interview! He seems genuinely very nice and you can tell that he just lives and breathes music. I think it's amazing how well he understands it, he doesn't need to have notes in front of him or compose on paper or anything, he just gets it. Very cool guy!
Jeremy Ylvisaker actually has a really great sense of humor and is a brilliant musician. Maybe you caught him on a bad night? You should check out the Fitz and Dizzyspells video - he's wearing a knitted unicorn sweater. He's quite a card.
I think Mr. Bird can't help but sound a bit over our heads, as he really does work (musically) on a very different level than most people. His drive for musical perfection combined with his amazing talent makes him something very different from the rank and file of musicians. Not to detract from other musicians, though. He just seems to stand on his own musically. He seems to be a bit out of sorts - personally he seems to be pretty shy and reserved.
I like how Andrew answers every question as if his life depended on it... really honest and humble
This was a fantastic interview. A thorough and intellectual Q&A.
Great interview 👍
Typical?!! This is one of the more well-versed and calculated interviewers I've ever seen. He's very atypical to me.

When I was 7, Andrew Bird did a live show at my school. I had no clue who he was until a couple years ago, when I started actually listening to him.
what! are you kidding? when I saw him he smiled at me several times and seemed very happy
Chorus after same chorus bores me. Therefore, I love this guy.

a very cool darkness
agreed.. i dont know why people hate on him lol
Andrew is just like me, aside from his first name. I play music through ear mostly. I can read, but I learn and play better by ear. I play drums btw.
The best collaboration would be with Andrew Bird and Regina Spektor..... they both sound different yet... not... idk.. I love them
Ma sis saw 'im in Atlanta.
Lmaoooo!!! Your comment made me CRACK up! hahaha XD
Jeremy he never looks stoked.
into himself? He's being asked questions about himself.
@Googolagahummike Thank you for this. I couldn't stop laughing!!
STOP INTERRUPTING HIM!!! LET HIM SPEAK!

Wasn't he on Conan O'Brien last night?
oh, I thought you were talking about Andrew Bird. Sorry...
@Googolagahummike "I would describe you as the white Tom Sawyer!"
jian should have been fired, sexual allegations or not, he wasn't interested in the interview i just wanted to hear himself talk.
@bigcyhutch I disagree and think he does a fine job.
Jeremy does not look stoked.
Ugh he's so freaking adorable lol.
gawd that guitar player is creepy. went to a show he didn't smile the whole time.
mytoecold (Drew Monson) lmao! Does seem a bit odd!
while I was watching I couldn't stop wondering what lone guitar man was thinking.
HAHAHAHAHA JEREMY YLVISAKER... you kook.
