Wow both windshields in nice to have help only got the rear windshield seal to do on the torino this video will be a great help when I do it thumbs up 👍.
Thank you Barry, you make it look so easy but I know how hard it was to get it in the right place. I was going to use the original as well but like yourself once car is painted it might not be good enough anymore.
This is always a fun thing too do, I put one in a 79 F250 the same way gasket style windshield can try your patience just got keep your cool and it'll all come together.... Got a 72 dart to do soon.... Sure is a lot easier on a bonded windshield lol!
Nice work!! Those can be a pain, but very do-able. A lot of class shops won't do older cars now. I don't know if they're losing skilled labor and knowledge or what the deal is...
40 yrs ago I had a professional glass installer do one for me. It rained that night. The next morning I had one inch of water on the driver's carpet. About 5 yrs later I had another professional place do a windshield, and air blew in at the bottom so hard that it would freeze my face while driving (winter). That's back when glass places were suppose to be up to speed on these H channel installations. I have another to do now, and I'm searching for a "competent" shop to do it..... Good luck to me. 🙄
thanks for the video. Never really knew all what was involved in installing the windshield like this. Also did not know replacement windshields were not as thick as the original. Perhaps newer glass is stronger? I don’t know.
Cj auto shows it in their installation vid, it also looks like they take the windlace off the top part of the windshield, not 100% sure so i I guess that's my question is if it should be removed or not..
I buy my windshields from one of the local automotive glass shops. Saves a bunch on shipping.
Your red headed assistant looks supper smart!!

I think the standards have changed over time. Thicker may not mean stronger.
Oh god I did this a few months ago. I still have sealant boogars in my hair!
I went to join patreon to get info on how to do the clips but I don’t see the video
How would you handle pinch weld repairs around the windshield? Leave in epoxy or paint then install glass ?
Epoxy would be fine, but paint would be better.
You did not put strip caulk on the inside flange ? I thought we had to ?
You can and maybe should. I added sealant along the outer edge.
@@JoDaddysGarage I was asking cause I am planning this in the winter months coming up ! Thanks again love the videos !
