    Perfect for what I was needing. As others have said, there ALWAYS needs to be a fuse near the battery on the positive feed. A device may be fused, but if a short circuit develops between the battery and your device’s fuse, the device’s fuse will not protect the wiring from over-amping, possibly melting or catching fire.

    Even though your radio has a fuse, it's a good idea to put a fuse inline within 10 inches from the battery in case the wire becomes compromised and shorts out on something in the engine bay, which could cause problems...

      What gauge wire and fuse do you recommend for 50watt mobile radio.

    Hi Paul, what gauge of wire did you use here? Looks like 12 AWG?

  • @tdiler12
    @tdiler12 2 года назад

    Good call I was able to route 2, 12AWG wires to connect directly to battery. Its tough there really are no !
    openings from cabin to engine compartment to do this easily. The screwdriver is a good trick. No more blown fuses running fridges and sh *

    Nice fire hazard 😳
    You need to use a fuse in the positive cable.

    • @PaulApollonia
      @PaulApollonia  4 года назад +1

      There is a fuse on the positive side in the cable that is under the radio in the console.

    • @PaulApollonia
      @PaulApollonia  4 года назад +1

      If you look at the video. There is also another fuse on the positive side near the battery. There is also a fuse on the black wire near the firewall under the hood. So thats a few fuses.
