- In this video, I show you How To Run a Power Wire Through The Firewall Hood Release Cable Grommet 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan.
It really was not that hard.
Getting from engine compartment to inside the car through hood release worked perfectly! Thank you!
Thanks for the tips and thanks for watching and the comments, Please like the video and subscribe to my channel. Thanks
Perfect for what I was needing. As others have said, there ALWAYS needs to be a fuse near the battery on the positive feed. A device may be fused, but if a short circuit develops between the battery and your device’s fuse, the device’s fuse will not protect the wiring from over-amping, possibly melting or catching fire.
Thanks for watching and commenting.
exce;llent! Short, concise and detailed. Dashcam wiring for me

@@PaulApollonia I don't know what else you do I just stumbled on this video that I needed for my Dodge caravan. I'm not a big RUclips of anything as far as following and subscribing but I appreciate this video
@@donschlonski2936 it is all good, thanks for watching.
Even though your radio has a fuse, it's a good idea to put a fuse inline within 10 inches from the battery in case the wire becomes compromised and shorts out on something in the engine bay, which could cause problems...
Thanks so much for the advice I appreciate it I will do that thanks a lot thank you for watching
What gauge wire and fuse do you recommend for 50watt mobile radio.
I got the Ecoflow alternator and this is good
I shared this on a car audio FB group...thx
Oh WOW, Thanks so much. Have a great day.
Exactly what I needed to know, thanks!
Glad it helped de N3GCA
Hi Paul, what gauge of wire did you use here? Looks like 12 AWG?
Good call I was able to route 2, 12AWG wires to connect directly to battery. Its tough there really are no !
openings from cabin to engine compartment to do this easily. The screwdriver is a good trick. No more blown fuses running fridges and sh *
Your welcome and thanks for taking the time to watch the video.
You're running a fridge in the van?
@@carbonbomb4774 If that question was directed to me yes a 40 quart fridge and a 500watt power station .
Nice fire hazard 😳
You need to use a fuse in the positive cable.
There is a fuse on the positive side in the cable that is under the radio in the console.
If you look at the video. There is also another fuse on the positive side near the battery. There is also a fuse on the black wire near the firewall under the hood. So thats a few fuses.
Hope this shyt works. I hurt my back & cant get down there long but we gonna try it
Thanks
