My mustang took to this right away, and now asks for it, a LOT! In a way that makes sense to me in hindsight, it has also helped with trailer loading!

I love that you use different horses to show us how they differ in the training! Thank you for showing us the process, I'm excited to try this with my gelding!

We have a giant podium in the indoor. We use it for stretches (and mounting). They get up with their front end and I give their treats really low. Big stretches!

Nice video! Was there any particular reason that you approached this more as a shaping exercise (with the touch cue as a hint that it involved foot movement) than a targeting exercise? I could see using a mat to anchor the rear feet with a nose target to get the reach.

I did this a long time ago and would do it differently now. I decided not to take down the video but updated the text below it. At least until I have a new one to replace it. I would now do it with a target and probably a mat

Love the video! Earlier on in the video you had stated you teach other stretches as well. Will you be doing any videos or blog posts on these? I'm very interested in knowing the others.

I'll look into doing that! I've been on break from youtube but I'm working on getting back into it. :)

this will do NOTHING to foster collection. ..such a damaging posture to encourage leaning g forward onto the forehand.

Keith Bartlam thanks for your comment. this has nothing to do with collection , this is purely a therapeutic stretch for in between training. Just like humans need to stretch muscles in between workouts so do horses.
