Building on your theory that it’s possible for a boy rarely being born to the Kujas, what if the love sickness isn’t exclusively romantic love but also parental. So Luffy being born to Tritoma and taken away for some reason resulting in love sickness from Tritoma missing her son.
I feel that Luffy’s mom probably died tragically, which could explain why Dragon said that a child is a parent’s weakness to Kuma during the flashback. Maybe Luffy got kidnapped and she sacrificed herself or something, idk, but I doubt Toritoma would be Luffy’s mom. On the subject of the révolutionnaires, I could see Kuma being that love, though only one-sided like Hancock is with Luffy. A simpler explanation for toritoma being Luffy mom and love sickness is that while men aren't allowed on Amazon lily once she had Luffy and had to give him up her heart broke

I'm going to give a little more head canon to Tritoma being Luffy's mom and Dragon being based on Amazon Lily. In Marineford, Boa refers to Luffy as the son of the Devil when Dragon gets revealed to be Luffy's father in front of everyone. What if the reason she calls Dragon the Devil is because him leaving is what killed Tritoma and she holds a lot of resentment towards him? Could also be that he is the most wanted man but still food for thought

Tekking, i think you got the timelines a bit mixed up. Luffy ate the gumgum fruit 12 years ago, meaning that Shanks stole it 13ish years ago, same time as the last empress died. So its highly likely it is someone from Shaks crew, might be even Shanks himself since he seemed to have something going on with Makino.
I feel like if Tritoma was Luffy's mom, she'd have to have done the deed with Dragon, which I feel would count as enough to be a cure for the live sickness? I just don't see it happening.
She could have died of love sickness not because Dragon didn’t accept her feelings, but because she was forced to give up Luffy since males weren’t allowed on Amazon Lily. Oda never said that love sickness couldn’t be triggered by familial or platonic love.
Why i think Tritoma is Luffy's mom is If im remembering right boa became the empress at 18 years old so its 13 years ago and she was inslaved exactly when luffy was born so that's why she doesn't remember him and we see luffy the youngest we know him as a 7 year old kid and he 19 now so if luffy was with his mom until he was 6 and she still was the empress she was alive and then died so dragon took him to his hometown or Garp did idk, and we have kuma for some reason sent Luffy to Amazon Lily and kuma knows dragon very well he for sure knew Luffy's mom. Lily might have started the Amazon lily in the first place after the flood and was stuck there in the calm belt and her name also is of a flower. I subscribe to the theory that mihawk is rayleigh and shakkys son . He got shakkys sideburns and the style and pattern on his attire is similar to that of rayleigh .Both have drinking habits . Also maybe thats how shanks and mihawk met (through rayleigh ) . Maybe rayleigh trained them both and they became rivals . Also shakky retired from the empress post around age 22...which is around 42 years back , exactly mihawks age .
He also seems to really like floral patterned clothing which could be a reference to the Kuja’s flower theme. The only issue here is his surname because it’s Dracule, not Silvers like his possible father’s.
One big argument for why Tritoma can't be Luffy's mom; it's stated when we first see Amazon Lily that the women of the island *always* give birth to daughters. They're implied to have become almost their own subspecies, like long-arms, triclops, fishmen or minks. Unless Luffy is just too dumb to realize he's actually a flat-chested girl, but I don't think he's quite that stupid, and it would also make the confusion of the Amazons to seeing him naked way harder to justify.
the amount of people thinking that Luffy's mom is from Amazon Lily, despite the fact that they only give birth to females, makes me lose hope on this community, not even counting the fact that Oda would never just reveal Luffy's mom on a SBS, come on guys, think a little.
just gonna say that i doubt it is luffys mum but, granny nyon did say that the love sickness weakens the body and then eventually leads to demise so it would't suprise me if it took years to kill, it could even be that it doesn't itself kill, but through weakening the body makes it easier to be killed, and she was an emperess and captian of the kuja therfore was probably really strong taking a longer time for the love sickness to take effect. Lets not also forget that amazon lilly is a woman only island if she was his mum then she would't be able to raise him there.
A few holes in that Luffy's mom theory. Ivonkov can switch genders, but Dragon and Tritoma had to do love making, while ivonkov never knew he had a child, and couldn't guess *when* it could have happened.so more than likely this was on a solo mission dragon preformed.

I like a lot of the last theory where the Revolutionary Army is based out of Amazon Lily and Triatoma gives birth to a boy and he can't stay there. But it raises the question of if Iva was using his fruit to allow the Army to stay on the island, why wouldn't it be used on baby Luffy so they could stay?

Also to work out Toritoma age i calculated the median between Shakky and Hancock which is 45.5 which means she would have been 32 years old when she died. You are right that there is a lot of holes with Toritama being Luffy's mom but if she is it could still be explained very well as we barely know anything about Luffy before he met Shanks and Luffy was 6 years old at the time and we don't know how Kuja would act if they gave birth to a male child.
I thought maybe itd be interesting if Luffy was on Amazon as a child and Toritoma was keeping him being a boy a secret. Knowing luffys nature since he was getting older it was becoming impossible to hide he was a boy so in order to keep him safe she had to let him go. The thing is her death from Love Sickness would be due to having let Luffy go! Just wondering does love sickness have to always tie into it being romantic love? This is all theory/head cannon but still hear me out ,3/4 pirate empresses survived their love sickness and my theory/head cannon is that all the empress’s fell in love with pirates(Gloriosa -WB or Rocks),(shaky -Rayleigh)(toritoma-unknown)(Hancock-Luffy) this could work because the woman on Amazon Lilly are warriors and strength is what earns you respect and all the names mentioned as far as pirates they’re some of strongest pirates in the one piece verse, those said pirates ether encountered them when they were out on the sea or they could’ve ended up washing up on the shores of the Amazon Lilly from a accident like a ship crash from a bad storm or something.
I think we are overcomplicating things if she was Luffy's mom What if it's Amazon Lily climate that makes it so that only women can be born on the island? We know the effects of islands are all over the place so since the appearance of the island is normal, what if that is their "weird factor"? So if she gave birth to Luffy outside of AL then the effect would not be in place and since it's a boy she can't take him to the island of women. As for her death, what if in her case she died from missing Dragon and Luffy? Specifically Luffy due to ber bond as a mother?

(I know this video came out weeks ago, but I just wanted to add my input) I always wondered about the women of Amazon Lily having only girls. it's not biologically possible IRL, (if Oda doesn't pull something lol) and it's actually the male genes that determine the gender of the baby. So I always figured that to be a women-only society, they just left boys with the fathers and took girls back with them. That way it would always SEEM like they only have girls. So I whole-heartedly believe Tritoma is Luffy's biological mum. Ever since Shaki was revealed to be a past empress. I wonder if the love-sickness overcame her, but Dragon visited her often so she wouldn't succumb to it, and being a marine back then, probably got found out, and the government killed her, or put her in a position to be killed (because the Kuja are pirates after all), and that's one of the driving points why Dragon became a revolutionary. Regardless if she is Luffy's mum or not, I think Dragon's backstory has a lot to do with Luffy's mum/his wife/lover. Because the fact she hasn't been mentioned yet is curious, I feel like she's important to the story somehow. Even if she was just "some woman".
Here’s my theory of how events played out with Tritoma being Luffy and it is all centered around or caused by Hancock and her sister. Here it goes: Okay so we know Boa and her sister were like cabin girls on the Perfume Yuda, so what if Tritoma was the one who brought them on both because she was like “Hey these girls are strong maybe one of them could fill my role as Empress one day” and also she may not be Boa’s actual mother but It’s like Luffy and Dadan. So Boa sisters get kidnapped Tritoma know Sabaody is near by because I’d imagine like hey this is a major vacation spot and a lot of men gather so the Kuja may visit Sabaody every once and a while to make a new generation. So she makes the Yuda snakes go as fast as they can probably faster and just when they get to Grove one and in the Human Auction House a world noble buys Boa and her sisters and the Kuja don’t have the money to outbid the World Noble,Tritoma doesn’t have the stupid bravery Luffy has to attack a world noble and even if she does have Conquerors Haki people saw the Kuja so they know if they free Boa and her sisters the World Nobles are likely to send an Admiral or even Buster call Amazon Lily so Tritoma has no choice but to leave as the little girl she sees as her daughter is dragged off to be a slave in Mary George. And she goes on a war path she obliterates any ship that gets in her way, be it a pirate ship, civilian ship or a marine ship, and she kidnaps any useful people she sees men are only used as slaves on the Perfume Yuda and when they get back Tritoma is like “okay feed ‘em to the Yuda, and women are kept alive but are used for dangerous work. Because in her mind what happened to Boa is her fault. Then she attacks the Revolutionary Army when they are still starting out and Dragon was like “Hey I’m trying to overthrow the government” and of course Tritoma is interested because of Boa, so what the (Ivan turned) all Female Revolutionary Army stays on Amazon Lily for a bit, leading to Luffy, then because he’s a man he has to be sent to the Goa kingdom with Garp, the the revolutionaries have to leave, and Tritoma tries to push down her feelings not for Dragon but for Luffy, she tries to make herself think she doesn’t love Luffy because he is a male but she can’t leading to her dying of Love sickness
Gloriosa and Stussy were unfulfilled in love while Shakky got her love, the formers look like old prunes, the later is still youthful as ever. Love is the best youth potion !
@Tekking101 in 21:25, technically not all mothers give birth to have daughters. It could be possible that if one of the Kuja gave birth to a son and I do have thoughts on it. (They did said that one of the Kujas leaves to repopulate and mate the fathers) It could be possible that either a Kuja possibly abandoned the son after not successfully giving birth to a daughter to repopulate the tribe & the son becomes an orphan, leaves the son to the father for failed to produce a daughter, or one of them might stay with the father and son & decided not to go back to the island to raise a daughter the tribe wanted. If Tritoma did had a son, she might have just given the son to the father or ordered the Kuja abandoned the son while Tritoma stayed on the island. Also, I don't think Amazon Lily have the technology to have Cloning Machines.

maybe toritoma is luffy's mom. then due to luffy being a man, he can't be raised in amazon lily. so he was given to garp. But the lovesickness that struck her was not due to dragon, but luffy( motherly love).
She could only be Luffy’s mom if she died from something other than the love sickness. Because the cure to the love sickness as we’ve seen it is to act upon your feelings. If she had a baby with Dragon that would have cured the love sickness as we saw Boa get cured just by leaving with Luffy. Even barring all that it would be a slim chance that she would be his mom.
The idea of Granny Nyon being hot as hell in her 60s like Shakky on Rocks crew and only looks like she does now in her 90s or older is my headcanon till proven otherwise

Shanks for sure was in the grandline prior to the events of luffy and him loosing his arm . Whitebeard confirmed this himself that the battles happened with mihawk (probably in the new world ) and then shanks goes and looses his arm. So shanks was an active pirate making a name for himself in the grandline.

18:11 Ok and y’all can correct me if I’m missing something. But the theory that she can be luffys mom isn’t as full of holes time line wise as we think right. We know Garp dropped of ace to Dadan as a baby and periodically throughout that time he would come and check on Ace yet he never brought Luffy until he was 5(or 6) if my memory serves correct. Now ace was brought to Dadan since Roger was his father and Garp as a Vic Admiral probably didn’t have the time either to raise him. With Luffy father being dragon he was in a similar position so it’s unlikely garp had luffy from the time he was born up until he was 5 since he probably would’ve dropped him off as a baby like he did ace and come to check on him like he does later. So my thoughts are Garp didn’t have him up until that point luffy was actually with Dragon and Tritoma from the time he was a baby until he was 5 when it was decided that he would go stay with Garp for his safety. Seeing as knowing that the most wanted man in the world had child would not only put Luffy in danger but with Toritoma being the empress it may put her people in danger as a way to get to dragon. With all that being said what if the love sickness Toritoma died from 13 years ago wasn’t just losing dragon but having to give up her only son for his own safety causing her to fall Ill and then less than a year later she passed away and Boa took over as the new empress. As for luffy not remembering well we know his memory isn’t great when it comes to things he find unimportant he couldn’t simply not remember considering he was a toddler or simply thought of her as this nice lady who was taking care of him and feeding him when he was a child.
Some more thoughts after finishing the vid. Luffy and dragon could’ve been staying on the outskirts of the island or on a ship docked there we know when luffy was injured boa allowed luffy, Jimbe and and law(his crew) to stay on the outskirts and treat luffy could’ve been a very similar situation. I don’t think they were based out of Amazon lily exactly but they could’ve stayed there on the outside for a period of time til they found an island (Baltigo) that could serve as an actual base of operation beforehand kinda just being scattered around the world. Kuma could’ve also visited dragon while he was there explaining how he was able to send luffy there and also explains y luffy landed on the outskirts of the island too when he got there.

I feel that Luffy’s mom probably died tragically, which could explain why Dragon said that a child is a parent’s weakness to Kuma during the flashback. Maybe Luffy got kidnapped and she sacrificed herself or something, idk, but I doubt Toritoma would be Luffy’s mom. Why i think Tritoma is Luffy's mom is
If im remembering right boa became the empress at 18 years old so its 13 years ago and she was inslaved exactly when luffy was born so that's why she doesn't remember him and we see luffy the youngest we know him as a 7 year old kid and he 19 now so if luffy was with his mom until he was 6 and she still was the empress she was alive and then died so dragon took him to his hometown or Garp did idk, and we have kuma for some reason sent Luffy to Amazon Lily and kuma knows dragon very well he for sure knew Luffy's mom.
So the timeline makes sense and kuma actions too and we have the theory of Nefertari D. Lily might have started the Amazon lily in the first place after the flood and was stuck there in the calm belt and her name also is of a flower.
We know lily has a connection with joy boy
And if she has a connection to Amazon lily and it might have been a failed love story.

I subscribe to the theory that mihawk is rayleigh and shakkys son . He got shakkys sideburns and the style and pattern on his attire is similar to that of rayleigh .Both have drinking habits . Also maybe thats how shanks and mihawk met (through rayleigh ) . Maybe rayleigh trained them both and they became rivals . Also shakky retired from the empress post around age 22...which is around 42 years back , exactly mihawks age .
He also seems to really like floral patterned clothing which could be a reference to the Kuja’s flower theme. The only issue here is his surname because it’s Dracule, not Silvers like his possible father’s.

One big argument for why Tritoma can't be Luffy's mom; it's stated when we first see Amazon Lily that the women of the island *always* give birth to daughters. They're implied to have become almost their own subspecies, like long-arms, triclops, fishmen or minks. Unless Luffy is just too dumb to realize he's actually a flat-chested girl, but I don't think he's quite that stupid, and it would also make the confusion of the Amazons to seeing him naked way harder to justify.

just gonna say that i doubt it is luffys mum but, granny nyon did say that the love sickness weakens the body and then eventually leads to demise so it would't suprise me if it took years to kill, it could even be that it doesn't itself kill, but through weakening the body makes it easier to be killed, and she was an emperess and captian of the kuja therfore was probably really strong taking a longer time for the love sickness to take effect.

A few holes in that Luffy's mom theory. Ivonkov can switch genders, but Dragon and Tritoma had to do love making, while ivonkov never knew he had a child, and couldn't guess *when* it could have happened.so more than likely this was on a solo mission dragon preformed.

You are right that there is a lot of holes with Toritama being Luffy's mom but if she is it could still be explained very well as we barely know anything about Luffy before he met Shanks and Luffy was 6 years old at the time and we don't know how Kuja would act if they gave birth to a male child.
I thought maybe itd be interesting if Luffy was on Amazon as a child and Toritoma was keeping him being a boy a secret. Knowing luffys nature since he was getting older it was becoming impossible to hide he was a boy so in order to keep him safe she had to let him go. The thing is her death from Love Sickness would be due to having let Luffy go! Just wondering does love sickness have to always tie into it being romantic love? Thatd be an interesting way for this play out.

This is all theory/head cannon but still hear me out ,3/4 pirate empresses survived their love sickness and my theory/head cannon is that all the empress’s fell in love with pirates(Gloriosa -WB or Rocks),(shaky -Rayleigh)(toritoma-unknown)(Hancock-Luffy) this could work because the woman on Amazon Lilly are warriors and strength is what earns you respect and all the names mentioned as far as pirates they’re some of strongest pirates in the one piece verse, those said pirates ether encountered them when they were out on the sea or they could’ve ended up washing up on the shores of the Amazon Lilly from a accident like a ship crash from a bad storm or something.
Toritoma died of love sickness not for Dragon, but for Luffy, her son who she couldnt be with.

What if it's Amazon Lily climate that makes it so that only women can be born on the island? We know the effects of islands are all over the place so since the appearance of the island is normal, what if that is their "weird factor"? So if she gave birth to Luffy outside of AL then the effect would not be in place and since it's a boy she can't take him to the island of women.
As for her death, what if in her case she died from missing Dragon and Luffy? Specifically Luffy due to ber bond as a mother?

I always wondered about the women of Amazon Lily having only girls. it's not biologically possible IRL, (if Oda doesn't pull something lol) and it's actually the male genes that determine the gender of the baby. So I always figured that to be a women-only society, they just left boys with the fathers and took girls back with them. That way it would always SEEM like they only have girls. So I whole-heartedly believe Tritoma is Luffy's biological mum. Ever since Shaki was revealed to be a past empress. I wonder if the love-sickness overcame her, but Dragon visited her often so she wouldn't succumb to it, and being a marine back then, probably got found out, and the government killed her, or put her in a position to be killed (because the Kuja are pirates after all), and that's one of the driving points why Dragon became a revolutionary.
Regardless if she is Luffy's mum or not, I think Dragon's backstory has a lot to do with Luffy's mum/his wife/lover. Because the fact she hasn't been mentioned yet is curious, I feel like she's important to the story somehow. Even if she was just "some woman".

Here’s my theory of how events played out with Tritoma being Luffy and it is all centered around or caused by Hancock and her sister. Here it goes:
Okay so we know Boa and her sister were like cabin girls on the Perfume Yuda, so what if Tritoma was the one who brought them on both because she was like “Hey these girls are strong maybe one of them could fill my role as Empress one day” and also she may not be Boa’s actual mother but It’s like Luffy and Dadan. So Boa sisters get kidnapped Tritoma know Sabaody is near by because I’d imagine like hey this is a major vacation spot and a lot of men gather so the Kuja may visit Sabaody every once and a while to make a new generation. So she makes the Yuda snakes go as fast as they can probably faster and just when they get to Grove one and in the Human Auction House a world noble buys Boa and her sisters and the Kuja don’t have the money to outbid the World Noble,Tritoma doesn’t have the stupid bravery Luffy has to attack a world noble and even if she does have Conquerors Haki people saw the Kuja so they know if they free Boa and her sisters the World Nobles are likely to send an Admiral or even Buster call Amazon Lily so Tritoma has no choice but to leave as the little girl she sees as her daughter is dragged off to be a slave in Mary George. And she goes on a war path she obliterates any ship that gets in her way, be it a pirate ship, civilian ship or a marine ship, and she kidnaps any useful people she sees men are only used as slaves on the Perfume Yuda and when they get back Tritoma is like “okay feed ‘em to the Yuda, and women are kept alive but are used for dangerous work. Because in her mind what happened to Boa is her fault. Then she attacks the Revolutionary Army when they are still starting out and Dragon was like “Hey I’m trying to overthrow the government” and of course Tritoma is interested because of Boa, so what the (Ivan turned) all Female Revolutionary Army stays on Amazon Lily for a bit, leading to Luffy, then because he’s a man he has to be sent to the Goa kingdom with Garp, the the revolutionaries have to leave, and Tritoma tries to push down her feelings not for Dragon but for Luffy, she tries to make herself think she doesn’t love Luffy because he is a male but she can’t leading to her dying of Love sickness
Gloriosa and Stussy were unfulfilled in love while Shakky got her love, the formers look like old prunes, the later is still youthful as ever. Love is the best youth potion !
Could you imagine Mihawk showing up on Amazon Lilly he would be like Luffy and not give a damn about Boa lmao

@Tekking101 in 21:25, technically not all mothers give birth to have daughters. It could be possible that if one of the Kuja gave birth to a son and I do have thoughts on it. (They did said that one of the Kujas leaves to repopulate and mate the fathers) It could be possible that either a Kuja possibly abandoned the son after not successfully giving birth to a daughter to repopulate the tribe & the son becomes an orphan, leaves the son to the father for failed to produce a daughter, or one of them might stay with the father and son & decided not to go back to the island to raise a daughter the tribe wanted. If Tritoma did had a son, she might have just given the son to the father or ordered the Kuja abandoned the son while Tritoma stayed on the island.
Also, I don't think Amazon Lily have the technology to have Cloning Machines.
But there is no mention that the Kuja can give birth to sons. Its been stated they can only have daughters.

@@DigiPen92 No I get you are trying to say that the reason the female kuja don't come back with sons is because they abandon them but so far there is no evidence that they can even give brith the males aside from comparisons to the amazonians.
Also knowing these people its likely they would have killed any males.

i also think it'd be cool if luffy was the first boy born on amazon lily in recorded history and toritoma was just like "i need him OUT" and thats why garp had to step in, as a warlord issue kinda thing

Maybe Shanks went into the Grand Line, got out through the Calm Belt, and met Tritoma there.
the problem with it being dragon, and kuma already have been there is, they can teleport there at will, and she would know that, so would she really contract love sickness and die from separation anxiety, when if she messaged him he could just show up for the day at any point.

The whole "died of love sickness" could get really fucking dark with dragon and why he isn't in luffy's life to protect the cause and him
This theory is so good that i belive in it....and Hope that Luffy and Hancok can have a similar situation but giving love to his future son.
As well maybe the love sickness was her love for her child Luffy.
Enjoyed this one, especially the last part, it does add up, don't know if Oda's gonna make all that ordeal a thing but you never know.

Shakky was probably still empress when she was getting chased around by garp. The kuja pirates are just pirates back then. No warlord status.
maybe toritoma is luffy's mom. then due to luffy being a man, he can't be raised in amazon lily. so he was given to garp. But the lovesickness that struck her was not due to dragon, but luffy( motherly love).
She could only be Luffy’s mom if she died from something other than the love sickness. Because the cure to the love sickness as we’ve seen it is to act upon your feelings. If she had a baby with Dragon that would have cured the love sickness as we saw Boa get cured just by leaving with Luffy.
Even barring all that it would be a slim chance that she would be his mom.
The idea of Granny Nyon being hot as hell in her 60s like Shakky on Rocks crew and only looks like she does now in her 90s or older is my headcanon till proven otherwise
Though I didn’t even consider having the hormone hormone fruit in play, I’m still sticking to my guns that the lovesickness was over the child she couldn’t raise and it slowly ate away at her over the years.
Also bringing up that Kuma thing, if you think about it he intentionally sent the straw hats to places that would ultimately benefit them (maybe excluding Robin…and Usopp) so it’s a little weird he’d throw his supposed sun god onto an island where the inhabitants would be obliged to kill him on sight.
Maybe he assumed there’d be at least one woman in Luffy’s corner…

What if Tritoma got the love sickness from seeing her baby Luffy. (A mother's love) But with the rules of the Island, a boy child was not allowed on the Island so she let Dragon take the baby and Dragon being the leader of the Revolutionary army could not take care of the baby so he gave him to Garp.
Shanks for sure was in the grandline prior to the events of luffy and him loosing his arm . Whitebeard confirmed this himself that the battles happened with mihawk (probably in the new world ) and then shanks goes and looses his arm. So shanks was an active pirate making a name for himself in the grandline.
What if this missing queen is actually Vice Admiral Dolls mother, Kuzan being the father? Doll and Tritoma both have moles on their cheeks.
No shot Shanks had a billy from just the east blue btw. He was forsure in the grand line and then went back to the east blue.
What about Kuma , kuma send luffy to amzon lily that ment he has been in this island . May be Kuma and Tritoma meet she fell in love with Kuma but Kuma say He love Ginny and broke her heart.
"Leaving the island" is not the direct cure of the Sickness, expressing your love is.

I am not saying that's impossible that a Kuja could give birth to males ( I wouldn't be suprised if we learn one day that they have been throwing away their male children) but so far there is no evidence so just headcanon.
Tritoma faked her death, borrowed a favour from Ivankov (who was still around because this was a Revolutionary base), and became Crocodile.
18:11 Ok and y’all can correct me if I’m missing something. But the theory that she can be luffys mom isn’t as full of holes time line wise as we think right. We know Garp dropped of ace to Dadan as a baby and periodically throughout that time he would come and check on Ace yet he never brought Luffy until he was 5(or 6) if my memory serves correct. Now ace was brought to Dadan since Roger was his father and Garp as a Vic Admiral probably didn’t have the time either to raise him. With Luffy father being dragon he was in a similar position so it’s unlikely garp had luffy from the time he was born up until he was 5 since he probably would’ve dropped him off as a baby like he did ace and come to check on him like he does later. So my thoughts are Garp didn’t have him up until that point luffy was actually with Dragon and Tritoma from the time he was a baby until he was 5 when it was decided that he would go stay with Garp for his safety. Seeing as knowing that the most wanted man in the world had child would not only put Luffy in danger but with Toritoma being the empress it may put her people in danger as a way to get to dragon. With all that being said what if the love sickness Toritoma died from 13 years ago wasn’t just losing dragon but having to give up her only son for his own safety causing her to fall Ill and then less than a year later she passed away and Boa took over as the new empress. As for luffy not remembering well we know his memory isn’t great when it comes to things he find unimportant he couldn’t simply not remember considering he was a toddler or simply thought of her as this nice lady who was taking care of him and feeding him when he was a child.
Some more thoughts after finishing the vid. Luffy and dragon could’ve been staying on the outskirts of the island or on a ship docked there we know when luffy was injured boa allowed luffy, Jimbe and and law(his crew) to stay on the outskirts and treat luffy could’ve been a very similar situation. I don’t think they were based out of Amazon lily exactly but they could’ve stayed there on the outside for a period of time til they found an island (Baltigo) that could serve as an actual base of operation beforehand kinda just being scattered around the world. Kuma could’ve also visited dragon while he was there explaining how he was able to send luffy there and also explains y luffy landed on the outskirts of the island too when he got there.
