I had the exact same experience. I was there at 3, the time the doors were opening. I couldn’t see anything and I couldn’t stand the heat so I left. At least if I could see I might consider staying despite the crowds and the heat. I heard that they were expecting like 10 thousand people and that’s why people couldn’t see. If there was a small fee I think only people that were really interested in the show would come and we would all be more comfortable!
