only problem with that is that the boat would either need to be able to get past the bridge support, or else have some other way of getting out of the horse-shoe and into the open water...

Nice Tower. I would make the base of the gaps one block higher so you can't accidentally step over it and fall down. ;) Perhaps you can support you draw bridge another way. If you would put a one block rail at the edge of the draw bridge that extends over the other part perhaps this will work too. Then you would have two poles standing up, when she is folded, but if you paint the whole edge gray they would vanish in front of the tower when the draw bridge is up.
ScrapMan, what you could do in the little castle is take out the doorway in the back wall, then put ammo chests along that wall, so you don’t have to run all the way back to get more, in case you run out. That would be cool if you tried that out.
If you want a sleek wheel protector, you can use the satellite dishes placed backwards. And a support that won’t look bad is; having to rods on the bottom of the bridge that also fold out to prevent it from bending.
Can you make a panic button because if something gets too intense to handle, you can make something that like smacks them around, pushes them far away, or even just launching them into the stratosphere. I think it would be fun and useful. Also make the underwater support out of glass. Love ur vids! :)
Been following you for a while, I really enjoy your build and commentary. I enjoy the barrel vaulted style of the new walk ways, they present a unique look. However, they appear rather off, clunky (as mention in the video). One way to break up this smooth appearance would be to add small window arches. One block up from the edge and going only a portion of the way to the top spine. The Arches being smaller would tie into the symmetry of the design, as well as let in light during the day, and create an amazing texture that breaks up the look. Just a thought, still enjoy the design and look, just throwing my two cents in. Have fun and keep building.
For the bridge between the farm and the tower, just extend the wall. It would look a lot more realistic combined with the gatehouse/tower you just built and it would be a lot more castley.
Add a one block prong on the edge of the small side of the bridge that branches over the fold to the larger half, these lips will be a prettier way of fixing the issue. You can add the prongs to a piston as well so it can collapse out of the way when it folds up against the wall. Also add an arch way between the wall and the tower
The water space between the tower and main base... I think it looks nice, kind of like a moat. Perhaps add arch(es) underneath, maybe with a support pillar in the middle of the "bridge" between the tower and base. It also looks like a nice spot to park a small boat, if you figure out something different for your drawbridge support.... perhaps that could be a thing in future updates of SM. Also a neat spot for secret entrances (I've played too much minecraft lol). Still, you might want some form of wall for protection.. going with my idea, it'd have to be further back than the front wall. As for the drawbridge itself, personally I'd prefer some sort of bracing mechanism built into the drawbridge, but it would require decent modifications. Perhaps it's something to try on the other side first. All in all, very beautifully built. Keep up the good work.
I would take the wall off the lower level by the farm, use the recovered concrete to connect the front wall across to the tower, put the mesh metal from the edge down into the water, and put a brick wall two high to keep yourself from falling in the water from the farm on accident. A lot of classic castles were brick/stone and mortar on the outside, metal where water needed to flow, and wood everywhere else. Many castles "burned down" multiple times, but since the frame didn't burn, they just put new floors and inner walls in when they rebuilt.
For the bridge, you could have it fold the other direction (towards the guard tower) if it's strong enough, then build a support into the bridge that will brace the bearing. Or you could have a brace built into it anyway that fits between the two halves that would swing out to support it.
My suggestion for the gap between tower and main base is to make an archway there and build the floor about 4 spaces above the water. Add arrow slits in the walls for what would be used to shoot arrows from. Also you can add portcullis to the towers. Portcullis are the metal gates that raise and lower inside the drawbridge towers.
2 possible solutions 1: have the bridge fold the other way and have support on the bridge. (might push the lower lower part out a little) 2: have bridge supports swings out to lock it flat, these would be on the underside of the bridge, basically add a step or two after the bridge is lowered to extend a locking arm.
25:30 I noticed you only used 2 bearings to support the folding part of your folding draw bridge. Using more bearings would make it stronger. Right now you only have one bearing holding the upper part and same thing holding the lower part. I don't know how to call that square piece of wood that you made, that supports and creates the folding section but, if you had 4 bearings there instead of 2 it would make it stronger. Then if you added 2 more pieces like it, with 4 bearings each, it would make it pretty much as strong as if it was all one piece. I can't say 100% for sure but, the odds are good for it to work. Try it and see, and if it works you might be able to remove the supports you put under the bridge, which you don't like.
24:40 I think You should add a arch or a door or something to the gap if you want to use boats amd make a some kind of a folding bridge for the boats to go out of the double horseshoe.
Castle is coming along pretty well. I think it would look a bit better if the side walls of the tower would be a bit thicker. They look pretty weak in the lower part. And as other mentioned a nice arch connecting the tower across the water
Underneath the bridge put a bearing with a few blocks attached to it horizontally Connect them to a controller so that when the bridge goes down the blocks will rotate to help support the bridge and you won’t need the underwater support any more
Scrapman, what you could do to strengthen the bridge without the support is you could use the same contraption of the bridge but shorter. it’ll be expensive but I think it will look better. (Use piston instead of bearing and have smaller length of piston on both halves of bridge so piston contracts when u hit switch, have it underneath)
I think that the gap between the farm wall and the draw bridge pillar thing should be filled in with a walkway on the bottom. Also i love ur videos theyre really entertaining!
If you don’t like how the support looks for the folding bridge, you could have a piston raise the support from the water when the switch is pressed, so that it’s hidden when the draw bridge is raised :)

Try making a crane and pick up the mob bots with it?
they will break the crane
I feel like that would be extraordinarily difficult to make, as well as figure out logistically.
Terra Typhoon its worth a try.

Nice Tower. I would make the base of the gaps one block higher so you can't accidentally step over it and fall down. ;)
Perhaps you can support you draw bridge another way. If you would put a one block rail at the edge of the draw bridge that extends over the other part perhaps this will work too. Then you would have two poles standing up, when she is folded, but if you paint the whole edge gray they would vanish in front of the tower when the draw bridge is up.
Thank god hank actually returned with it. It probably wasn’t even milk it was just WD:40

Continue with the staircase beam through the roof for your drawbridge tower and make a flag at the top of the beam
You can connect the tower to the workshop area by a pathway
13:13 I believe the word you're looking for is a helix (at least, that's what the completed stairs looked like)
I would take the wall off the lower level by the farm, use the recovered concrete to connect the front wall across to the tower, put the mesh metal from the edge down into the water, and put a brick wall two high to keep yourself from falling in the water from the farm on accident.
24:24 have an arch
Add an arch over the water leading to the tower. It will look like either a dungeon or boat garage
2 possible solutions
1: have the bridge fold the other way and have support on the bridge. (might push the lower lower part out a little)
2: have bridge supports swings out to lock it flat, these would be on the underside of the bridge, basically add a step or two after the bridge is lowered to extend a locking arm.
Try using glass for the support beams for the bridge in the water
Castle is coming along pretty well. I think it would look a bit better if the side walls of the tower would be a bit thicker. They look pretty weak in the lower part.
And as other mentioned a nice arch connecting the tower across the water
13:13 : "what's the square version of a spiral"
It's an helical shape. Doesn't matter if it's square or round.
Underneath the bridge put a bearing with a few blocks attached to it horizontally Connect them to a controller so that when the bridge goes down the blocks will rotate to help support the bridge and you won’t need the underwater support any more
Or you could just make the underwater support collapse down on the bridge goes up
Scrapman, what you could do to strengthen the bridge without the support is you could use the same contraption of the bridge but shorter. it’ll be expensive but I think it will look better.
