Was anyone attending this concert? Must have been a blast!
I recommend you to learn the melody for Jerusalem Ridge as well. You find it here: ruclips.net/video/ye5V4YKYipE/видео.html

Hello Magnus from Knoxville, Tennessee, USA. I have really enjoyed your tutorial on Jerusalem Ridge. Learning from you has been super easy. I feel like I have progressed more in the past two weeks than I have in the last two months. You mentioned in the video that you are taking requests for tutorials. In honor of my home state would you do a tutorial of Sierra Hull playing Tennessee Waltz. It’s a beautiful song. I tried to pick out the notes from the video but I’m not yet skilled enough to do it alone. Please help. Sincerely Jared.

Your videos are really helping me learn. I am taking it very slowly, I like the way you break everything down. I will love it when I can play the whole song. I have my own little music camp, take notes and give myself a little sticky note certificate when I finish one section. Thank you so much Magnus. This is not John it's Lisa.

That particular video of the two of them was my introduction to "Jerusalem Ridge." I think it was also my intro to Tim O'Brien. I love how Tim looks like he could be playing that in his sleep, like it's no effort whatsoever.
Thanks for this lesson... now to go back to part 1!

This was great, Magnus. Thanks for breaking this one down for us mandolin mortals. As you asked for song suggestions, how about 'Rebecca' by the recently departed great, Herschel Sizemore? Thank you, Magnus.

I am so glad you posted this. I feel that I often get ahead of my self playing individual notes and I start ignoring the cords of a song. Knowing both makes so much sense for understanding a tune. Similar to your One Finger Cord Trick vid you posted two weeks ago, these cord focused vids make the mandolin more alive, for me at the very least. Stay awesome Magnus.

Thanks darthrabie11! That´s what so cool with playing the mandolin, it´s great for both melody and accompaniment. A big challenge but also very good for the ensembles we play in. Keep up!

Hello Magnus, from just outside of Knoxville, TN USA! Best teaching version of this I have found and from one of my favorite versions of the song. Tim and Chris are awesome but I gravitate more to Tim's style. I can second the request below for the Tennessee Waltz but could add one other song by Tim. Not so much bluegrass but a great song, John Hartford's "Gentle on my Mind". The version Tim plays live with Bryan Sutton and Stuart Duncan, ruclips.net/video/JzWoagZ53_Q/видео.html Jim
