Thank you for making this video it helped me big time, RMP just installed my ghost on my ranger today, they do amazing work and top notch customer service
@@NitroZ18Fishing gotcha thanks, do you have a video about 1st time calibrating the anchor or any kind of calibrating or is it good to go after the installation with no calibrating
that's actually the very next video I'm going to be posting...as soon as I can get back to the lake I will be making a video showing the calibrations necessary to make sure you're getting the most out of the motor, stay tuned!
Hey Rudy!… do you mean the strap that came with the remote?… That’s a piece that’s included in the box and it just slides through the grooves on the back of the remote… You can use it as a wrist strap if you wanted to attach the remote to your arm, hope that helps!
Unfortunately yes, that’s the one thing I miss about my Xi5…if you have the Ghost in heading lock and try to make adjustments with remote or foot pedal it kicks ya outta heading lock mode…hopefully Lowrance fixes this because that makes no sense!
Yes sir, the motor does have a heading lock feature…just not on the remote…I’ll be honest, the Ghost is the best motor I’ve ever been on a boat with, but this remote kinda sucks compared to my old Xi5…haha
@@NitroZ18Fishing i just relized another issue id have using it. I troll mainly in the Great Lakes in and sometime its rough water. Ghost doesnt come in 72" shafts. My old min kota had 60" and often would come out of the water. And an even bigger issue I have if I get this motor is that I am usually at the very back of my boat using the remote to steer.... the Ghost has a head that doesn't move so I got no idea how id see which way it was going. When other boats are trolling a few hundred yards from me I need to know which way my boats going.lol. I seen another video it was a magnet on the top with the arrows, i am trying to think of a way to modify it so I could see a fin or something showing the direction the motor is going? I also recently communicated with someone that was apparently using a prototype Lowrance remote that will have all the features, so the heading lock on the remote isn't the main issue now. Finding out the way i am pointed is now the main one.
@@BrandoLoves2FishI just bought a new ZV21 and have same concerns as you. Have you come up with a solution to seeing where you're going when fishing from the back? I'm sure I won't be able to see the top of the motor head when in bk.
After watching your NMEA 2000 and Ethernet video I subscribed. I currently have an Xi5 trolling motor and a Lowrance Elite 9ti. I use the remote more often than the foot pedal. It looks like the Ghost TMR-1 has less features than the Xi5 remote such as heading lock. If you just use the remote can you tell what speed (power) your motor is set to or do you have to look at your fish finder? Also is it true that if you're in heading lock and press your foot pedal it will take it out of heading lock? Is there a chance Lowrance will come out with a remote that has more capability? Thanks for the good work, I've learned a lot.
Thank you, I appreciate that!...unfortunately no, you can’t tell what speed you’re at on remote, you have to look at finder or foot pedal...and yea, that’s the one thing I miss about my Xi5...if you’re in heading lock with the Ghost and you press foot pedal, it kicks you out of heading lock, it drives me crazy...haha...I loved that feature on my Xi5...I’m hoping Lowrance comes out with an update to fix that, makes no sense...it’s probably my only complaint about the Ghost so far!

No prob, glad to see it’s helping!...and yes sir, RMP is great to deal with!
@@NitroZ18Fishing 1 more question, do I have to pair it every time I go fishing or only fresh out of the box?
just the once when it's new, then it'll pair automatically for ya!

Got this remote in today it pair very easy after watching this video. This Video was very helpful thanks for making it! Keep up the good work👍🏽
No problem!...glad it helped!!
Dumb question… what is the little black nylon looped object with the straps and where and how do you install it?

Does the remote kick you out of heading lock (constant on) if you make small adjustments with remote?
Unfortunately yes, that’s the one thing I miss about my Xi5…if you have the Ghost in heading lock and try to make adjustments with remote or foot pedal it kicks ya outta heading lock mode…hopefully Lowrance fixes this because that makes no sense!
@@NitroZ18Fishing Yes that does suck. Hopefully thats they something they can fix with a firmware update
I’m hoping so too!
Do you like the ghost better than the xi5? I just switched from the xi5 to the ghost but I haven't had a chance to have it out on the water yet.
Great Video! Thanks explanations were AWESOME!!
Thank you, I appreciate it!!
it don't have a heading lock like the Xi5? or the Min Kota's?
Yes sir, the motor does have a heading lock feature…just not on the remote…I’ll be honest, the Ghost is the best motor I’ve ever been on a boat with, but this remote kinda sucks compared to my old Xi5…haha

Does the remote program with the 47" shaft Ghost?
Yes sir, it’ll program to any Ghost
Does remote come with it or u need buy separate
Unfortunately you need to buy it separate, it’s $99.99
Thanks for the help!
No prob, thanks for watching!
Get a SCIPIO carabiner lanyard from any truck stop and slap it onto your belt loop, good-to-go!

How far will the remote reach? Can I spot lock my boat and go park my truck say 10 ft off the dock?
Lowrance states that the range of remote is 30 m (98 ft) so that’s well within range!...should be perfectly fine doing so!
