I have enjoyed the introduction of the new Porsche so much, Dustin's taste for cars 10/10 , also the way he tells us the whole story of the car from its first owner committing fraud and all its history, shows the bond with his cars
RUclipsrs have been sleepin on Porsches for a long time and recently I see a bunch of them finally getting up to speed on how iconic they are. My Dad, brothers and I have owned Porsches for over 50 years and their reputaion for handling and balance are well founded. With a history of over 30,000 race wins all over the world, I'm surprised that it has taken some of these guys so long to get onboard. Welcome to the club! For the record the rear is the boot and the front is the bonnet.
@@trevorssillyplace no man I just so happen to be on RUclips. They have a love for the things that they love and they’re just simply sharing it with you. I don’t understand why that’s so hard for you to understand instead of trying to break apart someone else’s life should probably try to enjoy your own. He is just simply sharing what he loves.
My dad had a ‘79sc. It was the car I grew up in and learned to drive stick on. Got lost after my stepmother sold it without my permission after his death. Hearing the exhaust note on that ‘83 legitimately choked me up with all the memories it brought back. Drive it in good health!
Congratulations Dut. It’s amazing how well kept the car is for its agar and the facts that everyone has been working together to keep the cars history alive is amazing. Thank you for sharing this piece of art with us 💪🏽🙌🏽
I was introduced to Porsche by the owner of what was formerly Nakai-San's personal RWB. Weekend after weekend, I spent more time around him and a group of Porsches. I went from originally wanting a 992 GT3RS to realizing I don't want it anymore. I want an older one, a 964. These old Porsches have a smaller, go-kart feeling, and these newer ones are just bigger and more cumbersome. They are absolute machines, but I've realised that these cars are super special because they are meant to be driven daily and reliably. They are super special and if you ever come out to Chicago, I've got a ton of Porsche things to show you!
Before installing an aftermarket shifter, consider changing out all of the shifter related bushings, getting a u-joint rear coupler, and rebuilding the factory shifter. All of the factory bushings rot after so many years. The 915 transmission is incredibly rewarding once you have everything in proper working order. By all means, try the aftermarket options, but once you know, you'll know. I've learned a lot from enjoying my '84 Targa with 218k miles ;) But most importantly, enjoy the car. They are unlike anything you will ever own.
So happy for you Dustin! Anyone that has watched for a while now has definitely seen the fire in your eyes for a Porsche! Love seeing good things happen to a genuinely good guy.
Love it man! Have had my 78sc for a few years and it continues to make me feel all the things. Nothing compares to that analog driving experience. Subscribed for future p-car videos!
And that intro was fire!!! I have a 77’ 911, it’s a euro spec… my dad imported it himself (went to Germany and brought it home) in the early eighties. When dad passed it was left to me. It’s been sitting for close to 30 years. So with that said I’ve spent the last three years just tinkering with it and trying to get it back on the road.
Something unspoken I’ve seen so far but is much appreciated is Tiana’s recent involvement in all the videos. I know her job brings her out of town a lot but she brings some really good energy to the videos along side Dut that brings out smiles. Shoutout to both Dut and T-Money 🔥🔥
The intro to the video was killer definitely gave me old skool vibes… the Porsche is you, that’s really cool that you have all original documents on the car, that’s rare…
Stumbled upon your video. As a Porsche guy in his 50s who has been running air cooled 911s for 30 odd years, so happy to see your youthful enthusiasm for the old air cooled cars and to figure it can be far more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow.
This is sick! Can't wait to see the restoration of this beauty. It doesn't need much, mostly paint/body and a couple mechanical things. Can't wait until you get it up on the lift and see what the underside is like.
I have the same. Bought a classic porsche (not 911, but 944) and whenever I stop somewhere with my GF a lot of young/old guys come just to talk about this car. It's magical. Love your SC, maybe someday I can get my 911, but 944 is a dream come true by now.
Absolutely love this 911. My dad dreams of an '87 911 turbo. It's one of my life goals to gift him one someday. Keep on moving up Dut Happy for you man ❤ Can't wait to see what you do with it
You killed the intro! So happy to see a classic 911 on the channel and this car specifically is perfect. I’ve always loved the 911 since my first ride in a 1983 black 911 owned by my buddy’s dad. They have a visceral experience about them that nothing else compares to. Looking forward to this build series and I know based on the excitement level brought out in the video that you’ll do the car justice like it deserves!
As soon as I saw him put the key in the ignition, I knew it was a Porsche!!!!! Super excited doesn’t even begin to explain how I feel about this specific build!!! Let’s Go!!! Dut should have a shirt that says “Let’s Go!” And has a pic of this car
Duuuuuuude that first shot of the rear end backing in. My jaw it the floor hahah absolutely awesome man, so happy for you🤘 and congratulations on everything
I'm so happy to see you getting a Porsche. I'm from germany and I work at a Porsche specialist. To know you enjoy the car that much is just amazing. You deserve it🎉 Can't wait for the build!!!
I’m all for this. My uncle had a 1988 911 and I want one so bad. The thing about a lot of Porsche guys is they keep meticulous maintenance records and all related items
I knew there would be a German or two on the channel at some point, never thought that it would be a Porsche before a Trackspec M build. Especially after you rode in the supercharged m3 and Nat’s M2. Proud of you
The way you talk about how cars don't have to be fast to enjoy them. Some are worth it for the experience alone. Classic cars have their own feeling. This 911 SC reminds me so much of the 56 Oval Bug I helped my dad restore. While it did have a tuned up 1776cc and was pretty "quick" for what it was. Just cruising around in it, rowing the gears, and smiling. It too being rear engine, sounded a lot like this 911 as well. I miss that bug so much.
What a dream car! The back fender and wheel arch on the 911 is the sexiest of any car ever made! All about those hips a 911 has! Congrats man! Definitely a full restore with a lil extra sauce and upgraded suspension for weekend racing is in store 😉 can’t wait to see this build progress! 👏👍
Best thing about slow cars is you get to rev them all day long. SO underrated from a fun factor perspective. Used to have an SC myself. FYI - my AC was in perfect condition and still basically blew warm air. Just how they are. There’s fun old stories of German Porsche execs not realizing how bad it was until they drove brand new cars through CA and AZ on press tours, sweating the whole time, and so they fixed the AC in the next generation. 😅 Honestly get rid of it and don’t look back.
So dope, Japan is what made me like porsche, they are able to add personality and soul into already great cars to make them into something truly special. I'm really excited to see Dut's take on it.
Hey Dustin, My father used to own a Porsche shop back in the early 2000's and used to build them all the time, and currently we are both working on his brothers 81' SC. Things you could do to the engine to get a little more out of it is, 1. Port the heads and stroke it to a 3.2 and swap the fuel injection, if no budget is followed go with EFI, but if you want to keep the rawness go with Carbs. CIS is pretty restrictive. 2. drop in a Carrera crank, which Porsche did from the Factory for the Carrera's, and that alone will make it a 3.2 and then if you stroke it then you'll get to a 3.4. Obviously with any of these a Cam and Headers will do wonders. Anymore with the stock case is mega money!
Congrats. This is well deserved and it now is in the right hands. Just make sure to keep the wheels original. The 3 piece speedline wheels form Porsche are priceless when kept original
Lifelong dream to get an early 1980’s model 911. One day hopefully. Looking forward to this build … jealous a bit and hanging out to see the merch drop for this…
welcome brother

I’m excited that he started with an aircooled first and appreciate the aircooled engines.
No one deserves it more than you. Your hard work and dedication are paying off. Keep up the amazing work and next stop the 1 million club. ❤❤❤
Bro seriously you should start doing short film, I love the way you do those little stories!

Cool to see the online crew all getting these badass Porsches. Jimmy, Adam, you!
Love older Porsches! New once are probably amazing driving cars but old ones have so much life to them.
man, that's so true! I really wanted to feel and experience this era of Porsche before hopping into something new
I loved the style of the opening scene! I really hope there will be many more reveals like this. And congrats!
The boot is the trunk, the bonnet is the hood. The guard or wing is the fender. The wing mirror is the fender mounted mirrors or door mounted.
