Costco has 2 grinders. Simply make one available for flavoured coffee ONLY. Any decent coffee drinker would know when his coffee grinds have been contaminated with other flavours. Simple
This is a great detail video thank you I always wanted to buy bean coffee but scared to use the machine thank you will go get some and try it thank you
That's actually really interesting. I didn't know Costco had those machines. I'll have to see if they have them in my local warehouse next time I go. Thing I don't get tho: If you're gonna actually Buy whole bean coffee, why grind it all at once, when it'll lose flavor and potency and whatever? Why not just an inexpensive home grinder and only grind it when you make coffee? But I can't deny that those machines are cool and convenient. Thanks for sharing :)
I suppose if you're gonna drink all the coffee within the month, it won't change too terribly much. Not to mention it saves a lot of time so you can just scoop & go. That's why I just tried this yesterday
My Costco just installed this machine. I want to buy Costco coffee online and grind it in the store. Hope they let me. Costco has a better selection online. I emailed Costco to ask this question. The online rep responded, “Costco doesn’t have coffee grinders in the store.”
I ground some Sumatran coffee in the Costco grinders & when I brewed a cup the next morning it had a very strong hazelnut taste. Of course someone had used the grinder before me using hazelnut flavoured coffee, I threw my whole bag away but Costco was kind enough to replace it. My suggestion is to make one grinder for flavoured beans & the other for unflavoured beans. That way no contamination. To a straight coffee lover, flavoured coffee is very YUCKY. Really YUCKY. Isnt that expected if its a common grinder? Grind them at home could be a better option if getting mixed flavor is your concern, plus you can use a specific grinder/grind to your liking.
You can only do that when 1. You got time 2. You have a grinder Many don't have a grinder cause they don't have to time to do all that in the morning, many don't because its too much of a hassle. Some grind for espresso (sad I know) and can't afford a $400-500 Eureka or $700 niche. There's a reason pre ground coffee and even instant coffee (🤢) exists, it's fast easy and is good enough for many
It took you a minute to open the bag.
Still a bit confused. What does the black knob above the spout do?

There have been coffee grinders in every Costco I have been to in Arizona (2 of them), California (4 of them), Colorado (4 of them).
The rep doesnt know anything as usual. 😂 I have seen them all my life just never used them until when i was little.

So sad to ruin all that coffee. Grind just grind a portion before brewing it. It is what I do.
You can only do that when
1. You got time
2. You have a grinder
