- Alexandra Helen Elizabeth Olga Christabel (December 25, 1936) is a member of the British royal family. Queen Elizabeth II and Alexandra were first cousins through their fathers, King George VI and Prince George, Duke of Kent. Alexandra's mother Princess Marina of Greece and Denmark was also a first cousin of the Queen's husband Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
Beginning in the late 1950s, Princess Alexandra carried out an extensive programme of engagements in support of the Queen, both in the United Kingdom and overseas. Taking part in roughly 120 engagements each year, she was one of the most active members of the royal family.
In April 1963, Alexandra married The Hon. Angus James Bruce Ogilvy at Westminster Abbey. The wedding ceremony was attended by the royal family and was broadcast worldwide on television, watched by an estimated 200 million people. The couple had two children, James and Marina.
The Princess is the patron of the Blackie Foundation Trust, a charity dedicated to the promotion of research and education in homoeopathy. She is also a patron of the People's Dispensary for Sick Animals. In her role as president of Sightsavers UK, the Princess visited Washington D.C. in October 2016 to attend the Neglected Tropical Diseases NGDO Network conference partnership reception. In November 2016, one month ahead of Alexandra's 80th birthday, the Queen held a reception at Buckingham Palace in honour of the work of Alexandra's charities.
As a male-line granddaughter of the British monarch, Alexandra was styled as a British princess with the prefix Her Royal Highness. At the time of her birth, she was sixth in the line of succession to the British throne; as of 2023, she is 57th.

Now, even Princess Alexandra is gone. She was the quiet royal everyone respected and loved. I also loved her, though I don't know so much about her. I loved it that she showed up in the picture of King Charles' coronation with the rest of the royal family. I wonder if she waited until King Charles returned home to England to say her final goodbye. She was a very beautiful lady.
