This is a really great intro for DC anglers trying to scope out how to get a read on the tidal basin... can't believe they even hit up constitution gardens after trying to fish in the reflecting pool... Yo, 1rod, nice little homestead you got going man! I only have one thing to bring to light, maybe youre aware of it already, maybe not but thats why I wanna say something in the off chance you aren't. For fish tanks you want to take the adult size of the fish and have at least that many gallons per fish you have. So youre looking at needing a 55-75 gallon tank eventually! I had an african cichlid and that dude grew to be pretty big and ended up needing a monster tank that i couldn't fit in my apartment. Haha. But other than a size upgrade in the future the tank looked amazing! Ton of natural hides without it being super cluttered. Another reason why upgrading to a big tank is beneficial, you can decorate the sh#t out of it with all kinds of stuff without taking room from the fish to stretch their fins!
Once filleted, their meat is similar to any flaky white fish such as halibut, haddock, whiting, or even striped bass (rockfish). intramuscular worms. Cutting the worms out is easy enough and they're even safe to eat if cooked completely.
Yeah the parasites only eat fish meat, they are safe to eat when cooked. I don't even tell people about them when I cook the fish, but try to cut the big ones out.

Could have brought you to Southern Maryland where there is actually really world class fishing and scenery. Upper Potomac snakehead fishing/bow fishing, is the greatest in the world. Plus it's a world class bass and catfish location. You guys saw the absolute worst of MD. Still loved it and love him, but come on, creek fishing for chubs for a full episode.......wow Could have brought you up to Deep Creek Lake in western MD in the mountains. Or fishing on the Susquehanna. I am flabbergasted........
Urban fishing in the DC metro area is some of the best fishing in the entire Mid Atlantic 😂 Heavy pressure but you can target trophies of quite literally any species you can name within a 20 minute drive of DC.

The cast net diameter is too small for how deep the pond is. As it’s sinking they have enough time to swim out of its path. Need a wider net.
