Hawaii and UNLV have a "island" trophy for the 9th Island Showdown as the native Hawaiian population in Las Vegas is around 50k earning it the nickname as the 9th island.
@@RyanJ504California was the original migration spot, but sometime during the 90s a lot of Hawaiians started moving east to places like Vegas and Salt Lake City. Vegas being a major air transportation hub helps with the price of flights back to Hawaii. Salt Lake City has BYU (and if you aren’t aware BYU has a campus on Oahu), as the LDS church had some of the first missionaries in Hawaii, establishing churches as far back as 1850.
next rebuild: one of the service academies. Just like the real ones, no transfer portal and no redshirts. (I'd say only take in clean-shaven players with hair that meets service standards but that would be insane). Also, you have to use the flexbone offense.
Service Academies send the majority of their freshmen to their prep school for a year before they come to the main campus. That’s their way of redshirting guys.
heyyy this is actually what i've been doing in my CFB franchise for a month now! - though my rules let me recruit anyone that has a "Hawaii-style name" from outside of Hawaii cuz i was finding no-one to recruit. took a while but i finally won a Natty in 2032 against a Liberty team that somehow beat Oregon AND Auburn to get there
10:39 It's a rivalry game since there's a joke of Las Vegas being the "Ninth Island" of Hawaii, due to how many native Hawaiians have moved there over time, usually because they get priced out of living in Hawaii.
That UCLA game might be the most fantastic ending I've ever seen. The only one that rivals it is when a guy lost a multi-player game on a safety on the final play of the game.
FYI Bordeaux, the offseason development coaching traits don't actually do anything. They literally just don't... uh... do anything. It's weird to say that, but its true. A bunch of people on Reddit conducted an experiment (1000s of iterations) and on average the results were actually marginally lower (not statistically significantly) than without the traits.
Challenge idea: spin a wheel for 5 states, 5 positions, and a star rating and those are the only states and positions you can recruit that season up to that star rating
Man, I love the idea of going all in with Hawaii players! It’s like underdogs making a big splash! 🌊 Plus, the islands got some serious talent that doesn’t get enough love. Can't wait to see how it unfolds! 🤙
I really enjoyed seeing you use a run-heavy style to go all the way instead of the usual "go ball" heavy approach you end up at a lot. I think it'd be really fun to see you start going into some of these challenges looking to use different styles of offense like you did in this one. It makes it way more fun imo
I always enjoy seeing Fresno State in your videos, and getting the change up in the experience of rooting against you and your challenge, haha. Go Dogs!
I don't know if you're tracking already but if you wait to hire a coach until week 3, that's where the better coaches are available to hire. Hopefully this helps in future rebuilds!
He should do Notre Dame because they need a rebuild for losing Northern Illinois ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Here's an idea, Premier League style football. You rank all the teams (I think there are 134) then you put the top 13 in one conference, then 14-26 in another conference, and keep doing this until all 10 conferences are filled with the 10th conference being filled with the 13 worst teams (throw the remaining 4 in Independent). After every season, the top 3 teams of a conference move up one conference while the bottom 3 move down a conference. Your goal is to take the worst team and try to work their way up to the top conference and become Conference Champ in that conference as well as National Champ. You could probably add recruiting restrictions for each conference you're in.
Reminds me of the soccer team Athletic Bilbao from Spain. They're famous for only signing players from their region, the Basque Country. Really impressive as they play at the highest level in Spain.
I can't believe I started doing this challenge at the same time this was posted just by chance... Gave myself the option of using Nevada players but only as walk-ons due to the Hawaii Nevada connection.
11:43 (43 ints - 101.6 pass rating is insane) losing 46-0 you got it bro I couldn't sit thru a season that bad. On the only Ncaa game I had 2 seasons with Oregon State 8-3 and left 😂
I'm sure I'm not as good as you but I do a lot of adjusting plays. I put a lot of my guys on streaks, post or corner routes when I see man. I also use the hurdle button a lot. It gives me a bunch of yards plays. Just seems painful missing so many receivers open or run short routes with one high safety.
I would have liked to seen freshman QB Micah Alejado from Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas play. He led the Gaels to a National title in 2023. That year he had 35 TD's and 0 interceptions. I went to all of their home games. His passing stats would've been even more insane if they didn't take him out of the game at the half.
love the videos but find it weird that you'll show the game winning td with a few seconds left still but won't show their last play (even if it's probably just a pass out of bounds) even to build up just a tiny bit of suspense
20:00 all three nine stars would be a crazy recruiting class

as an FSU fan and Alum, Bordeaux is not wrong.
There’s a reason he was benched at Clemson. No idea why FSU thought he would be any good.

It's also kinda an island in the desert.
The only thing I miss about living in Vegas was the availability of good manapua.
Thank you for the insight.
Huh that's actually pretty cool. Had no idea. Any idea why LV has so many Hawaiians?

Do a rebuild for Notre Dame after that loss to NIU

"We can't let UNLV keep winning the Island Showdown. They're not even an island!" 😂
Rebuilds like these deserve a quick sum of the next season after winning a championship.
QB only challenge. Can only recruit players listed as QBs, not any athletes either. Just QBs.

UNLV runs a "go go offense". It often has two RBs on one side of the QB. It really stresses that side of the field.
Its a super fun playbook
Definitely need to bring Army back to its former glory while running the triple option.
Please do an Arkansas rebuild to regain some of my sanity of liking this team😂
I wanna see a rebuild where you can only sign and play the shortest guy at each position.

Can’t wait for ea to update Hawaii’s field and add a two more uniform sets!!!! That would my my dynasty complete
I use Temple U and realized the other day I have 3 good players on my squad from Hawaii. Kinda dope
UNLV is a rival because Vegas is a big vacation place for Hawaiians. They consider it the "ninth island."
I can't believe I started doing this challenge at the same time this was posted just by chance... Gave myself the option of using Nevada players but only as walk-ons due to the Hawaii Nevada connection.

Bord, you need to have your playbook/scheme match your coordinators. Sim seems to be much more favorable if they match.
