Nothing like listening the Concert of great GNB and this is real bliss for life time and Nowadays no body. sings Ragha alapana. It is really gift of God. Prasad MYSORE
Accompanying violin drserves special commendation. But does not know who the player is. In case of perfection no less than MSG. But I t is another one.,because, that particular dvinity is not seen. May be Kumbhakonam? ..it is not Lalgudi ,TNS ,VVS or the people of their caliber. Inform please violinst"s name
The modest quality of the recording notwithstanding, we have an outstanding RTP here, from the great Vidhwan, accompanied by the genius of strings! I assume the percussion is by Palakkad Mani Iyer. And what a majestic raagam, Todi!!!
Now a days Karnatic Musicians are not singing these types of "Brigaa"s (Raga Alapana) in Kutcheris. I strongly consider that they cannot sing Brigaa during raga alapana.
wow, have never sing a vidwan sing fast paced brighas within first 2 minutes, shows GNB's aggressive approach and his liking for brigha and gamaka laden ragams like Thodi
Sri Ramaswamy Mahadeven has rightly opined. Briga is GOD's gift. One should listen to the 2-minute Kalyani raagam sung by SRI GNB for the krithi VAASUDEVAYANI. MURALI ROCKFORT (GNB FAN)
Music is eternal..so also GNB's music. What a wholesome effort..

This is from the Calcutta Concert held in 1963.Accompanists are Sri T N Krishnan and Sri Palghat R Raghu.
no words about Gnb..he was excellent.. but a mention about the violinist...what an aalapanai he gave in thodi... spellbound.
