When I saw Solar with the unibrow in Aya, I thought to myself, "I bet that was Solar's idea, and I bet she had to fight for it with the staff." Sure enough, she talked about it in a BTS video. No one wanted her to do it, but she said they all kept coming over to look. I haven't seen another group anything like Mamamoo, but that's okay. Who else would dress up like Teletubbies for an awards show? I would love them even if they weren't crazy talented and didn't have incredible songs, but they do!
Mamamoo is just different from other groups. They are not afraid to think out of the box and strait up break the rules of what female Idols are typicaly "supposed" to be. I totaly get what you mean with girlgroups. I also like more boygroups and yet Mamamoo is my ultimate bias group (above all the boygroups I like). As there is ao much more Mamamoo content I'd love you to check out, I hasitate to suggest this. I think you would also love my 2nd favorite kpop group KARD, since your mainly a boygroup fan and love when female Idols break the gender norms. Kard is one of the only co-ed groups out there (2 guys, 2 girls). They are amazing. They share with Mamamoo that all 4 members are far from stereotypical idols and are not afraid to be themselves, cjhallange the standard amd do what they want to do. If I may, I would like to suggest checkong out their songs Gunshot, Red Moon or Dumb Litty Love from Amsterdam!
You're pretty much right on girl groups, though, esp 3rd gen ones. 1st and 2nd gen had more freedoms, as they were still pretty much creating and exploring the genre, but they also had a whole lot more restrictions than most modern groups (at least behind the scenes, which is crazy considering how restrictive kpop agencies can be these days). By the time 3rd gen kpop groups started showing up, everything was strictly codified and female idols especially were no longer allowed to not fit into basically miniscule boxes in both appearance and attitude. Even mamamoo's agency briefly tried to keep the girls shoehorned into that around the time they first debuted despite having urged then to express themselves freely throughout training. The agency fairly quickly quit that, though, and became known for the freedoms they allowed their artists, both creatively and in their personal lives (rbw didn't make their artists live in dorms together, didn't keep them from drinking alcohol and never had a dating ban, all things common in other agencies). They basically said 'as long as you don't let it interfere with your career you can do whatever you want.' Partially because of mamamoo and partially because of how later fans started reacting to the few freedoms of the 1st and and 2nd gen groups, other agencies have slowly been allowing more freedoms for their female artists, as well, esp those outside the big 3, though even those are trying to relax some of their restrictions (esp when it comes to creativity and/or actually working on the music they perform. Even big 3 female groups are starting to be able to write lyrics or compose music for some of their tracks, which for quite a while was pretty much only allowed for boy group members or the occasional female soloist). 4th gen groups generally get a larger number of both personal and creative freedoms these days, again esp those outside the big 3, though there are also many smaller agencies that are even more restrictive There's still a long way to go, but this all is at least a good start towards equality (and the way mamamoo fights for it in both big and small ways, both loud and quiet, is one of the reasons they're considered leaders among the still-burgeoning feminism movement in south korea)
The moment I saw that FRIENDS poster and you being a Moomoo made me subscribe to you. 😊 Mamamoo is actually very unique compared to other girlgroups, they are acknowledged more of being as an artists instead of idols. Mamamoo's agency(RBW) gives them the freedom to make their own music and be real on and off cam, unlike other agencies who limits their idols, hence you'll see no pretentions in them and see them writing and composing a lot of their songs. They even did a Tipsy Live part 1, 2 and 3. These women are just truly the most humble and talented gg i know, they came from 0 - 100. They really did earn where they are right now. And i'm also a multifan. 😊 love your reaction! 🤍
@@moomoo_ot456 😅😅 you can buy one tickets and can watching with 2 live split just one account, 3 vod (replay after livestream is over) let's just read the caption, you can buy that tickets with your friends 😊
Love you mamamoo vid and love to see people becoming a new moomoo. The growth of this group is literally insane. They begin to sale 100 copies for there first ep album “hello” and not 100k+ on there first day. I haven’t been there from the start but still see them grown exponentially in the 4 years I stan them. They are a great inspiration.
I can relate so much!! mmm is my first gg stan ever and mamamoo really set the standards so high for me i cant even stan another gg after them. caant wait for you to react more
They are family. :) Byul and Wheein almost debuted together from a different company, but due to the weight issue the group disbanded. Mamamoo is the only girl group that I heavily invested on. Meaning collecting their merch and albums. Others are just casual listening. Heck, i'm not into kpop. Not into boy groups, except RBW boys, support Mamamoo's young ones. ehehe Solarsido updates her contents 2x a week, Monday and Thursday, sometimes she edits her videos herself.
This is why I love mamamoo. Every member is different and unique from each other. They are just being themselves and they have creative freedom for their music, concepts and MV's. They also genuinely care about each other. Let's also not forget they are so talented and well very funny.
I was a fan from before their debut...was one of their few viewers of their predebut stuff at the beginning of January 2014. It's strange, as a Blackjack (2ne1 fandom), many more of us switched to MMM over 2ne1's younger sister group Blackpink. I like Blackpink, but many of us LOVE Mamamoo.
Just wanted to add that Solar didn't really shave her head as you probably could've guessed, she wore a bald cap for her MV Spit It Out. Another girl group that you may like is (G)I-dle (Oh My God, Lion, Latata, Uh-Oh and their newest comeback from a few weeks ago Hwaa)
Hi, maybe you would like to watch another one " Mamamoo's Journey" abt. how they fight together from promoting their songs on the street to the top , thanks
yeah I get your idea about girl groups, companies really like to make them look forcedly perfect (esp while performing) and they are waaay more estrict with female idols in that aspect
Solar recently said "Happy Halloween" in a vlive and it was clearly a callback to that award show moment. 😂 Wheein said Happy New Year in English and Solar said Happy Halloween in English because lol. In any case, it's the thought that counts!
Don't worry i totally get what you mean, even if english is not my first language either. Anyways, i really love your reactions to Mamamoo and i will comeback for the second part! love from México :)
Nah, you're right about most girl groups being reserved. I think they have been coming out of their shells a bit, but there really isn't a group like MMM. The closest [that I am more familiar with] is TWICE and Oh My Girl. The second girl in Moonbyul's lineup of admirers, YooA, who cutely said "unnie!!" is in Oh My Girl.
Its 4am here, who need sleep anyway this the long waited video reaction. Yes we are moomoo welcoming you to the club and let begin our journey together. How did You want to start your journey? By the time and start by their debut? Gosh im so exciteeedddd

Really appreciate your take on girl vs boy groups. I agree

Fun fact. Byul's younger sister is a fan of Idle.
The group is so talented, it's so nice they get multiple awards. :D

You should definitely react to DREAMCATCHER if you're drawn more to boy groups! Also love your reactions to MAMAMOO ☺️
Please part 2 !!!!!!
The most real/crackhead kpop groups are MAMAMOO and GOT7.
No wonder they debuted the same year
your hair looks cute
loveee your hair

Speaking of purple (see what I did there) please react to Purple Kiss “Can We Talk Again” it’s Mamamoo’s little sister group.! 😁
