i literally almost yakked during that head bashing scene in the substance, stop the damn match fr fr. also I’ve done further pondering on The Substance. the obvious commentary on body dysmorphia, the process of aging, being a female in the limelight who feels they have to fight and do everything necessary to stay young and relevant was all amazing. I felt there was something further to be said about the idea of retirement in general, and how the current generation feels about it. like a commentary about how it might not be possible for a lot of us to retire so we might as well enjoy everything we can while we have our fleeting youth, practically robbing our older selves in that sense. thoughts ?
@@ashembers4287 That’s an interesting insight! I was ok with the movie having so little dialogue but maybe atleast a scene or two exploring those themes would have given the audience a better understanding of Sue’s motivations. Guess you’ll just to rewatch it now!
