Arirang - Jazzchor Freiburg bei "Kaffee oder Tee" (SWR)

Jazzchor Freiburg brings the popular Korean folk song "Arirang" to German television.
After Jazzchor Freiburg has toured in Korea for the 6th time, this time the choir took a small musical souvenir back to Germany.
Arirang is considered the Korean folk song par excellence and was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2012.
In his arrangement Bertrand Gröger breathes a subtle jazz note into the song and gives the pentatonic harmony a comfortably warm depth.

Der Jazzchor Freiburg bringt das beliebte koreanisches Volkslied "Arirang" ins deutsche Fernsehen.
Nachdem der Jazzchor Freiburg bereits zum 6. Mal in Korea war, nahm der Chor diesmal ein kleines musikalisches Souvenir mit zurück nach Deutschland.
Arirang gilt als das koreanische Volkslied schlechthin und wird manchmal sogar als inoffizielle koreanische Nationalhymne gehandelt. Darüber hinaus wurde das Lied im Jahre 2012 zum UNESCO Weltkulturerbe ernannt.
Bertrand Gröger haucht in seinem Arrangement dem Lied eine dezente Jazznote ein und verleiht der pentatonischen Harmonik eine wohlig warme Tiefe.

Rhythmisch ist das ehrlich gesagt nicht sonderlich schön gemacht, klingt unharmonisch und hakt. Schade, das ist sonst so ein schönes Lied.
