Nostalgia calls. I built that exact same header bagged kit of the Typhoon in 1964. 3/- , and the first 1/72 kit I bought for myself.

I used to buy these from the local post office in the village, they cost 1shilling & 3d, thats about 7p in current money. I saved up to buy the Lancaster at 7/6, thats 38p in current! Heady days!

Excellent video. Those kits bring back a lot of memories for me! That stuka was the first kit I ever built in 1958 when I was seven. Made a mess with the glue, but here I am still making models today. Thank you for a fascinating video. Love the Grummon Gosling!😊😊😊

Used to spend my weekly pocket money on those series one kits. Two shillings. Ten pence in today's money!

When there is so much more and better kits today I see no point in building these old treasures... I would defintitely keep them in their mint conditon and save them, unbuilt, for future collectors and builders to enjoy and let the future model enthusiasts see how it was in the golden years to build a model kit...but of course if I had multiple copies of a specific model I think I would build one as is...without paint or decals, just to see how it goes together...but still I love how you dare the collectors by opening these old diamonds!

You should try and straighten the Hunter fuselage as best you can and build it up as a diorama of an old delapidated aircraft. Use it to practice aging and weathering techniques.

I would be interested in seeing you build the FW-190 and Typhoon.

I think that the swastikas have been removed from the FW190 'Dora' decal sheet.

I do believe that FW-190D kit is still around, I've seen it in a recent packaging and in the older blister style packaging.

How I wish we had access to a market boot sale or eBay plethora of ancient original Airfix Series One bagged kits like that here in AU. Must have been a megaton of hoarders in the UK.

I'm trying to find a canopy for a Hunter FGA9 if you're not planning on building your F6...
