We have a transmitter less than 3 miles away, and. And can’t get a signal regardless of what aerial we use, has been this way since they turned off the analogue signal which we always got a perfect picture. Think the biggest problem is we are in the middle of a town with lots of large old granite properties, one of the biggest reasons haven’t had a licence for past 10 plus years, can’t get a signal no point paying for a licence.
Thank you SO much..I had no idea HOW to set up the indoor aerial..or which ONE to buy. Your brilliant video helps so much..THANKU..will follow your directions and let you know how it goes..THANKS again X
Can I please say.....I am over the moon I have just bought this aerial "TV Aerial Newest,Freeview Indoor TV Aerial,50 Miles Digital TV Aerial 0.5mm Ultra Thin HDTV DVB-T2 Aerial with 12 FT Long Cable" from amazon as yours was no longer available.I have just tried it and thought it was not going to work but if you wait a few seconds when you change channels it works like a dream I cannot tell you how happy I am. I don't need to pay for an on-the-roof aerial for nearly £300 in a rental that is only temporary whilst we look for another home to buy. I did what you said about the digital coverage checker. Thank you
@@riathari You will be very pleased, just look at the houses around you to see which way the aerials are facing then stick yours on the window in that direction and hey preso great picture and loads of channels
I think the Freeview signal has been boosted since the demise of analogue so I wonder when you tried the other aerials. That new one might work just now, depending on the atmospheric conditions, time will tell if it works 24/7. But Russel your a practical chap, surely you could have threw up an external aerial, I found a snazzy outsize aerial online for £40 that the neighbors think it something to do with the Ministry of Defence? :D
LOL, yes I did think about an external aerial, but I am getting lazy in my old age Paul. I went for the easier option. Mind you I am all for keeping the neighbours guessing with new tech stuff! Have you thought about knocking a video up for your set up?
im in the UK and plugged it in today and by the window it detected 106-109 channels via being plugged into tv standard aerial socket, but when i looked there was no extra channels ??????? set to Air not cable
It is not available anymore Peter. There is a link to a similar product in the video description. I would imagine similar looking products would be ok. :-)
If you are in range of a transmitter with a good signal and can place the aerial in a window that is in "line of sight" with the transmitter it should work. :-)
Hey Russell thanks for the brilliant video man 😊 this is exactly what I've been looking for! Quick question, do i need to buy a separate remote for accessing the freeview channels? (probably a stupid question I know 😄)
No your remote will be fine Ash. Modern TV's are set up for Freeview. Just make sure that the aerial is in 'line of sight' of a suitable transmitter with a good signal and then tune in the TV. The aerial will receive a signal through a window, but probably not through a wall. :-)
@@joannapocock6055 Unfortunately Joanna the website I mention in the video is not available anymore. Use this site: www.freeview.co.uk/corporate/detailed-transmitter-information It gives the details you need including the bearing. One thing I forgot to mention in the video is that the transmitter bearing should be checked through the window. A brick wall will block the signal. So check the bearing from where your window is on Google Earth when you look down at your house. If the bearing line goes through the window towards the transmitter it should be fine. :-)
I find if I stand on one leg with an oven glove on my head and hum " my old man's a dustman" the reception is perfect. Removing the oven glove however interferes with Sky Sports Main Event and GB News. Please do not try different gloves because they will not fit over your head 😜.
@@RussellPlatten Always willing to share best practice Russ 😜. I once tried a colander on my head, but it brought me out in tiny spots all over me bonse.

mine doesnt work at all nothing so back to sainsburys i think im in a dip and the mast is too difficult
You definitely need a reasonable signal for it to work and have no brick walls blocking it. :-)
The Amazon link you e provided doesn’t work.
Sorry Clive, they do not stock it anymore. I would just pick a similar aerial. :-)
If I use an indoor aerial in my room when cars go by all trains my picture gets cut off

what is ? NO CI Module
I brought the same one not a bad aerial for the money tbh
