- Princess Kate cradled a two-days-old baby in her arms on a visit to the maternity unit at the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford.
She also spoke to mothers and maternity staff on her first major solo engagement since being made the Princess of Wales by King Charles III.

I had a baby at 27 weeks gestation. To see The Princess of Wales holding this baby and showing such incredible support is for me personally is very moving. To have your baby left for 3 months in hospital is so difficult and emotional. Going there everyday to Express milk, to have the constant stress re your baby's health is traumatising. Thank you so so much for showing such compassion and raising awareness

Not sure if you’ll see this as the comment was a year ago, but I was born at 26 weeks. Definitely traumatic for parents & baby, but I have had the luck and nurturing to become a happy healthy adult some 30 years later. The early years work HRH Catherine supports is essential, and is close to my heart too. I hope you and your child are doing well now ❤
my fav moment was when she was talking and a baby started crying/caughing and she stopped to check if baby was ok. this was very considerate from her and show she cares about others and listens.
The Princess of Wales, is so much like our late Queen, Catherine carries herself with dignity, she is compassionate, she really cares, she takes the time to get to know the establishment, staff, patients and we can't forget the babies. Catherine you are a credit to the RF, Commonwealth and other countries and the human race, as was your Queen and your husband. We are very lucky to have your service and duty. Thankyou HRH.
I love how she cradles the people’s health and their families. Her attention is healing. Midwives gave to her and HRH Princess of Wales gives back. Kindness. Very lovely. 🥰

This video is touching in many ways, but chief among them is its timing. I always felt that the passing of Elisabeth II was a great tragedy for both the royal family and the world, and I have since been quite mournful in regards to the british monarchy. But seeing this has helped to inspire confidence in the future and that the royal family and the monarchy shall endure, now and in the future, just like it has for centuries. There is something special in seeing new life enter the world.
