@@jds614 even more of a reason to be independent. I’m no civics expert, but I believe the court of public opinion sends its judgments through the voting process. Supreme Court justices should interpret the law as written by the other branches. If they operate at the will of public opinion, they’re a threat to anyone who disagrees with the majority. I want the process to work as intended.

You should not ascribe a causative role to Boris Johnson. Use the way-back-machine or speak to a Londoner (he was mayor here for 8 years). I live in a rural Republican area and most of the people I know own guns. Speaking about bump stocks, not a single one I've spoken to believe bump stocks should be legal. The only push back I've heard (obv. a very limited poll) has been regarding legislating from the bench. They want this to go through Congress.
