GC2020 Press Conference: Regionalization - early proposals passed

  • As of April 24, 2024, at the postponed 2020 General Conference, much of the legislation was passed that aims to give The United Methodist Church’s different geographic regions equal standing in decision-making.
    A group of those involved with the proposals joined to celebrate and explain what had passed and what is to come.
    Participants included: Bishop Tracy Smith Malone, Bishop Thomas J. Bickerton, Judi Kenaston, the Connectional Table’s chief connectional ministries officer and a delegate from the West Virginia Conference, The Rev. Emmanuel Sinzohagera of the Burundi Conference, The Rev. Jonathan Ulanday, a delegate from the Philippines who was part of the original team that crafted the Christmas Covenant, Rev. Deanna (Dee) Stickley-Miner, Priscilla Muzerengwa from Zimbabwe, who was part of the original team that crafted the Christmas Covenant, and Ande Emmanuel, a delegate from Nigeria.
